I have been using sainsburys online shopping for over 7 years now but it was very slow and didn’t always have all the information for certain items especially new lines. I haven’t done a shop in sainsburys since before covid and in October 2020 I moved from London to a very small village with no shops in Cornwall and sainsburys didn’t deliver to me so I had to use one of two supermarkets that did but on the 5/4/22 I moved to Liskeard in Cornwall a bigger town but still with only 2 supermarkets in it 1 that delivers and 1 that doesn’t well I’m fed up with the poor quality of the food I am ordering and us arriving short dated more than half of one order the fresh items were dated that day or the next and I’m just a single woman with a cat who wants the fortnightly shop to last the whole fortnight I end up having to freeze things so I went onto the sainsburys app which told me an update was available which I downloaded and when I checked thankfully they deliver to me despite my nearest branch being about 5 miles away so I placed my order and even found some nectar points wirth £7.50 I in the coupon folder that I’d requested ages ago but hasn’t been able to spend so I’m treating myself too a hair dye and providing my order arrives Wednesday without drama I’m very happy to be a sainsburys customer again

This is the first time I have done on line shopping.it most certainly wont be the last. I found the on line shopping web site very user friendly , particularly as a novice and 80 years old. The products available were almost as prolific as in the Store. I did have a few things substituted but I was fine with the substitutes . A few items also out of stock , but no problem. My order was delivered on time and the driver was very helpful and polite. Would thoroughly recommend this way to shop. Stress free and saving having to park and trundle round the Supermarket with a shopping trolley, although I have never found that a problem, but online shopping is a doddle. Thank you to all the Staff who gathers my shopping together and also to all the Staff behind the scenes, , front of house and delivery drivers helping our Community to survive during this terrible time we are going through with Covid 19 Everyone of you deserves a medal for your courage and bravery. Thanks again. Mavis Bretnall .
I love the App

I switched from Morrisons to Sainsburys deliveries during lockdown for several reasons. The App is easier to use being one of them. It’s easier to prevent substitutions if you don’t want them. It automatically adds the delivery slot to your calendar so you don’t forget about it. It’s easy to change your order, add or remove items. And finally, your favourite items come up first on a search. It is slightly more confusing to try to change the delivery slot after you’ve placed an order, but I have got the hang of that now. All in all, I’ve shopped using the Apps of most of the leading supermarkets but I find this one the clearest and easiest to use. I don’t have problems with spinning circle (spooling) as per Dragonheart’s review and I’ve never had vouchers for another shop instead of a refund. Indeed one one occasion an unfortunate accident with a broken seal on a milk carton caused milk to soil the packaging on several items which I was refunded for even though the items themselves were unharmed (but needed to be used very soon!). The delivery drivers are pleasant and helpful and observe covid protocols and they always show up on time. The delivery slots are cheap and available, even at short notice! Overall I recommend Sainsburys and I recommend this App!
lost favourites, no multi item search, no comments
Draco nobilis
The app has lost most of my favourites. I used to have around 400, now there are just over 100, many things I buy every week have gone. There is no multi item search anymore. This used to be good but is now limited to one item at a time. The worst thing with the app is you can’t make a comment about a product, e.g. “only slightly green bananas (not fully yellow)” or “must have at least 7 days before use by” on milk. The worst thing about Sainsbury’s online shopping is our current source shop (Swadlincote, I believe) keeps sending items which are off before their use-by date (e.g. raw chicken covered in bacterial colonies); orange juice that was not sealed, leaked & (presumably because it was not sealed) was already off on delivery; milk that was a date over its use by on delivery (delivery 20th August, use by 19th August); items such as whole milk to substitute semi-skimmed presumably because they thought fair trade was more important to me than type of milk (repeatedly despite being informed about it). I asked to change supplier but was told they couldn’t do that. We have had other suppliers (fosse park, Nottingham, etc.) with whom we have had very few problems. We are now considering changing to one of Sainsbury’s rivals. We’ve given them plenty of opportunities to improve but they don’t. There is obviously a real problem with food hygiene & date compliance at this shop.
We’ve made a few behind the scenes improvements to keep your shopping experience smooth and reliable. This update includes general bug fixes and performance enhancements to help you get your groceries faster and easier.
We'd love to hear your feedback as we continue to improve.
