With just flat surface and a smart phone you have almost all of the functionality of a scanner without having to buy or find space in your home to place one. Using it is admittedly a little slower, and the resultant scan just a little skewed, but for most people the alternative is not scanning at all and losing the paperwork.Once you set up a naming convention under Settings and create a suitable folder structure in a free cloud space like to Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive, the process is blisteringly quick to both scan but ultimately retrieve when necessary. I scan all paperwork as soon as it comes to the door and I have not had to worry about finding key paperwork for years. Including functionality like automatic OCR (that is text recognition that can be relied upon when searching for a scanned doc), most won’t realise it but Adobe is giving away premium technology for free. As long as it continues to be free, huge kudos to Adobe providing this to the public.

I have been using the Adobe Scan app for several years now, and I can confidently say that it has consistently exceeded my expectations. The reliability and efficiency of this app are truly commendable. I am grateful to the amazing team at Adobe for creating such a wonderful tool.In addition to its excellent scanning capabilities, I want to take a moment to mention Adobe Stock. I believe that investing in Adobe Stock presents a colossal opportunity, especially for those who are willing to hold onto it for at least five years. This company has not only provided us with an incredible app but has also shown us a better world through their intuitive programming.I highly recommend the Adobe Scan app to anyone in need of a reliable and feature-packed document scanning solution. Now let me start by saying I used to love this app, it was perfect, I never paid for it but it worked fine every so often for a quick scan and submission and that’s all I needed it for, now I have no idea why but recently all my previous scans were deleted and it just wouldn’t let me do a scan, I had a submission due in about 25 mins (plenty of time) but it just didn’t work, every time I tried to scan it said (scan failed) 5 minutes to go I gave up and just took photos with my iPhone, managed to get the assignment submitted with 1 min to spare but the point is, is that it failed me greatly when I needed to use it, now even if I was planning on buying the full version, this has entirely put me off and I think I will invest in a different app (and so should you) because problems like these are far too dangerous to have coming up, it was a large percentage of the course I would have lost and I think that’s a ridiculous thing to happen with an app that’s just taking photos and changing the contrast, granted I am fairly annoyed hence the 1 star but still, I suggest getting 1 or 2 other scanning apps just in case.

This app does a nice job creating scans of documents. I use it to make pdfs of those simple instruction manuals that come with many electrical devices that mostly you don’t need aside from maybe one detail you know you’ll forget and then lose a function. This app does this well enough. Downsides are that when it takes a photo of a page, you can’t easily zoom in to check the focus. You can tweak the page edges but you need to keep going for multiple pages or you can’t stitch them together as one doc. Which is where it’s frustrating, because useful extra features (like merge) cost a silly amount for casual use. It is Adobe so of course it ain’t cheap but they surely could come up with a usage fee to tap into this market. Maybe ten uses per month or something. As it is, I’ll share to my computer (which I do anyway) and stitch pages together there when I need to with the free Mac app that does this.
