They advertise their account as offering 2% cashback on direct debits, with a maximum earning of £30. That’s great, market leading. What they don’t tell you is that money is paid into an area of the app called the “growth hub” rather than your actual account, and it’s seemingly impossible to access this money. When you contact customer support, they take 5 minutes to answer every message (totally fine), but if you dare to take more than 3 minutes to answer their messages they end the chat and you have to start the whole process all over again. What’s more frustrating is that their representatives haven’t even heard of this “growth hub” and will deny any knowledge of its existence. The live chat doesn’t allow you to send screenshots so you have to email them, and then they deny receiving the email.

I have great all the way through on my borrowing power, excellent credit scoring, borrowed and settled before with Zopa, with no missed payments, in the same job, but now on even more money than before, but offered very poor rates. Due to Covid borrowers are now now being offered pretty bad deals to protect investors, as customer services pointed out. I’m a key worker, I’m lucky to have my job I know, but I picked this career as it was safe. Rather than take the money in the good times, broke in the bad! I don’t see why I should pay much higher rates to cover now broke investors? I will be going with NEYBER for new transport, my companies loan partner at much much better rates. Or direct with the car manufacturer. Even my bank offered me better rates than Zopa! Used to be great, and fair, not so when you have to cover investors investments. The borrowing power goal posts have been adjusted, as I have all five power ratings as great on my overview, so great all the way through, with excellent credit, credit cards paid off each month, key worker secure job, but still only being offered good 8/10 loan rates! Even my credit card is a lower rate, offering more money! Updated all year and still only offering good rates instead of great rates! Ok if you are desperate I guess?
Family left with no shopping

Absolutely disgusting, they froze my card with no warning, they don’t know why it was frozen in the first place, I was in a supermarket waiting to get my weekly shop for the family, card froze so couldn’t pay for it. Rang Zopa explained the situation, got nowhere, spoke with a manager who explained they have raised the issue with their specialist department and they will be in contact within 1-2 working days. This was on Friday morning, I waited all day Friday, all over the weekend (sponging off friends for food for the family) rang them again Monday for an update as we urgently need the card unfrozen to get shopping, gentleman on the line was not helpful in the slightest and advised the specialist team will take 3-5 working days. Absolutely fuming, Zopa are fully aware of my situation and not 1 care is given. The website clearly states you can raise complaints over the phone or by email, gentleman I spoke to on Monday did not want to create a complaint and kept directing me to the email. I’m still on the same situation with no appreciation or help from Zopa. Once I understand why the card was frozen, I’ll be cutting it up putting it in the bin. I will take the hit on my credit report, a company like this does not appreciate their customers so why should I use their services, diabolical.
Misinformed and terrible customer service after being a victim of fraud

I had noticed 4 fraudulent transactions on my zopa account so I contacted zopa to explain the situation and was reassured the transactions was flagged and confirmed as fraudulent after zopa contacted the vendor and established I have no relationship with them and I don’t need to do anything regarding payment etc and my credit score won’t be affected.3 weeks later and still to this day Im receiving late payment reminders and my credit providers have been informed impacting my credit score (I’ve not one missed payment in 4 years).So I again contacted zopa who seemed unaware of my situation, so frustrating especially when you requested a call back and spent 45minutes on the initial phone call assuming the issue was resolved. On 2nd contact with zopa I requested a call back from a manager to shed some light on my situation who was ment to contact me within 48 hours, no contact was made to me from a manger regarding the situation, I had to chase them AGAIN and now I’ve been notified I should expect a call within 15 working days😳. A complete shambles which has affected my credit score negatively and I have now decided to pay the fee in order not to affect my credit score even more as zopa have not resolved my issue and has caused me extreme stress and anxiety such a shame zopa couldn’t resolve this issue for me immediately (although I was assured it was) and mislead me into believing the issue was resolved. I’m extremely disappointed as my credit score has been impacted negatively and if I was given the correct information at the first correspondence with zopa I would have made payment in order for me to keep my credit in good shape. Unfortunately I will not be using zopa credit in the future. I’d give 0 stars if I could.
