I genuinely love this app. I loved Shazam before it was even an app, back in the olden days before smartphones existed when we had to call 2580 and play the music on the call and wait for the text. Before this we either had to call the radio or go to the record store to hum the tunes we liked in the with the faint hope someone would recognise it. So many amazing songs I only got to hear for a second time and only knew the names of because of this app. Great for when you hear songs you like on movies or tv shows, at parties or in the club, on the radio etc etc. I have discovered so many new bands that I love but never would of knew existed without Shazam, more than I ever discovered through paying for and reading music magazines. If you don’t already know what Shazam is, I’m 100% sure you will have already wished for the existence of such a service at some point. If you love music as much as I do, you really do need this AND IT’S ALL FREE!

WhatsApp, excellent. It’s fast picks up music with background noise of talking from films. I honestly can’t imagine not being without it. The majority of my music library, has been made up by using this app. It picks up music from films even though people are talking and there’s background noise, I highly recommend getting this app if you haven’t already. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed, if I could give it 10 stars I would. The speed it works out, recognising the song is amazing and one of the good points. That it’s connected to Apple Music and you can save the Shazam in your playlist. Are usually don’t do reviews, but I had to for this one because it works perfectly. I can honestly say it’s the best app I’ve ever downloaded.

For the last few weeks something has happened and I’ve lost a lot of songs on my Apple playlist via everything I’ve Shazam’d, everything is updated accordingly but something isn’t clicking between them both, I’ve tried a few avenues (un-sync, re-sync, disconnect Apple Music and reconnect it) even when I’ve lost the will to live and try make do with the list I got a day or two later that list has diminished again.Before everything messed up I had at least 950 songs on my Shazam playlist via Apple Music now I’m lucky to sync 700 - at worst it’ll sync the very latest songs I’ve Shazam’d - so for instance today 5 songs on a playlist which should be closer to 960. 🤷🏻‍♂️ so what’s gone wrong? What’s changed? I’m getting pretty annoyed with it, all the songs were in a place I could remember, now, I’ve not got a clue. Pretty disappointed and pretty gutted about losing the songs via the app too. I’ve just checked my list on Apple Music and my playlist is showing 178 🤦🏻‍♂️ please sort this issue out. It’s not on.

Shazam has always frustrated me - frustrated because technically it’s astonishing, yet could be so much better.I mean, thinking back to when I was at school and mobiles were only just becoming commonplace, the idea back then that you could find a song simply by using your phone to listen to it would have been phenomenal, and still is when you think about it rather than take it for granted.And yet, beyond that ability, I’ve never found Shazam to be all that. It deleted a whole load of old songs I’d Shazamed from the early days (which I’d assumed would be relatively safely stored!) and because I tend to use Shazam only for interesting/rare songs I’m unlikely to hear often, chances of me finding what they all were are next to none. It makes me anxious about using it as a permanent store platform.Second thing is it’s not exactly easily integrated with other music apps/devices; really it would be nice to have added Shazamed songs straight into a playlist as soon as you get the answer - I’m hoping its integration with the Apple family could signal a change around of this.Thirdly, quite simply I’ve never found the layout as straightforward and easy to use as it could be.As mentioned, I’m hoping this could change with the recent news, and there’s very nothing that puts me off using it completely!
