App doesn’t accept Allstar card and support team can’t resolve

I originally posted a review around the support team not knowing how to support the app or the cards and that is still true. However a developer got in contact following my review and sorted everything so thankyou Adam, it is much appreciated. Original message - Don’t waste your time here. Have been trying to add my card for 2 weeks now but it fails with a 204 error and support team can’t do anything about it.

The app says that the Allstar co-pilot app helps you get the best from your Allstar card & provides a hassle free experience when it comes to recharging & refuelling on the road ….. I had to re-check the Oxford-English definition of “hassle”, as I thought it had been completely rewritten & I was out of the loop, but no, it hasn’t - it’s just that Allstar have a very different understanding of the term “hassle free” than anyone not working at Allstar …I now don’t use the app at all, as a generic search in my area, other areas, in fact the whole of the uk, doesn’t show ANY public EV chargers - which is a bit useless really, when you have an EV vehicle & one of these Allstar cards from work to use … the app now doesn’t even find a nearby charger when I’m sat in the vehicle, charging at a station that it previously could see & tell me the charging rates for & doesn’t let me pay / charge through the app either …. Basically the app is just a waste of time & data to download & use & a waste of memory on my phone.As others have said, other apps at least tell you where chargers are. Even a search for EV chargers near X on Google maps, brings up more info. than the “hassle free experience” from this app.Honestly, don’t rely on it or give it any space on your phone, it’s just a pointless app.

Good and very useful but needs fixes

It’s a good app and is very useful, however it still has a few bugs that need fixing. When using the app to charge the vehicle it will accept the charger and start the process. However I have had few instances where you cannot stop the charge on the app and an error message appears. The app will reset itself and you have to log back on which again will not allow you to and another error message will appear. If you try reset your password because it won’t let you do it. The password reset will only work under WiFi. One day this is going to happen when you need it the most without WiFi . Also ,can you provide either face or fingerprint login to log onto the app, you have to do this to start the charge so I believe the option should be available for both.

Easy to use and quick to find stations. Needs a little jazzing up. Some colour perhaps and a few tweaks to the interface to make a bit less bland.
We've fixed some small bugs and updated some security measures. Simply update the app for improved reliability and security. And, if you like what you see - please rate the app.
