Routes not great

I use this app on & off (use Google Maps most often). It is a little slower to update (than Google maps) live information like roadworks & road closures, so the road I'm travelling on is sometimes shut when I am still driving to my destination.

I also use this app to check out bus routes, but it doesn't always give me all the options. So today, the 2 (First) bus routes I occasionally use aren't even coming up. It’s giving me other (Stagecoach) buses that I have used before, but it’s a 40min walk to my destination (it’s quicker, but only if I'm getting a lift from bus stop to my final destination). The First buses get me closer to my final destination (only 20min walk from the bus stop) although the bus journey is double the Stagecoach buses. I'd rather sit on a longer bus than walk twice the distance as it’s through woodland (not safe).

Anyway, not sure if the First bus times are not showing up due to the new IOS update (last night). I will test out this app when I'm next driving.

Almost Perfect

This is my go to navigation app - except if my destination is critical to me, in which case I use Waze. (In other words, when I'm not just using the app to avoid traffic or track arrival time but trying to get to a destination in an area that I really don't know). Most of the time, Maps is spot on, whereas Waze, which is not so easy to follow or relaxing to use, has been 100% accurate.

Apple Maps has easily the clearest mapping and direction instructions, I absolutely love it. It's almost impossible to misinterpret them. Another excellent feature is the traffic data. Today it showed temporary roadworks outside my daughter's house. Remarkably up to date and accurate.

Occasionally, however, the directional changes given are slightly late; and it's business database is less reliable than Google's. The final issue I have, which is more annoying than critical, is trying to change my home address when using Apple Maps with CarPlay. Within the app, my home is shown correctly, but CarPlay insists they I live a street or two away! I've found no way to fix this.

It is a good app

So people give this app a lot of shade. I think it’s quite a good app for one that comes with your phone. It’s helpful and sometimes points out roadworks. I’ve used it for walking routes many times, and it’s been very helpful.
However, I do have a problem with the “binocular” feature, where it’s like you’re actually there. That is, I don’t have a problem with the feature itself (it’s truly revolutionary) but the coverage of said feature.
Most of the United States is covered, but none of the United Kingdom, which is kind of important considering I live there and in absence of street directions or binocular view in most of the United Kingdom, it’s harder to get around than it would be if I lived in the United States. Please fix this - there are many iPhone users in UK.
Before you say you can’t do every country, Google Maps has zero problem with United Kingdom coverage, so I will transition to a Google phone if this isn’t fixed. Google Maps is definitely better.
