SWARCO eConnect 4+

Wanted to use a charger in thropton in the Northumbria national park. After reading the reviews we downloaded the app, made an account , added payment details (direct debit not card?!), in both phones on different networks to give us a chance of getting reception… but no joy, couldn’t authorise session. The app is hopeless. It’s a shame as the location is really useful, we had planned to park up and charge for a couple of hours while we walked but no. Just give us contactless or partner with someone like octopus who know how to build software!! If you need to use this network then you’ll probably just have to cough up for the rfid card, don’t rely on the app!!

I’ve spent 3 hours of my previous time trying to charge from these stations, the app is buggy to begin with. After charging when you press the end session it does not successfully close the active window you have to quit the app.

I’ve been to 2 charging stations the first one the front door was open, the second one only the A/C charger worked. When I tried the CCS charger it wouldn’t release the connector from the station.

Phoned the helpline the staff is very polite but there is nothing they can do from their end really. I would pay little more to a place that works!

This is my second time of using paid for public charging as I own a Tesla.

I did as was said at west gate car park and downloaded the app. I skipped where it asked for my bank details for a monthly direct debit (insanity to need a direct debit for a quick charge) and the car started to charge lovely

When returning the session wouldn’t end but did let me unplug and I hadn’t given the app any card details so wondering how to pay I called the company. They said the only option is direct debit which I refused. They then said despite not being able to end session and the charge going from the original correct price of £3 and it climbing to (as I write this) above £5 he assured me his manager told him it would correct itself. And they want me to give them my direct debit details on the assurance it will correct itself. No chance.

Absolutely horrendous and for the first time in my life I realise why there is such an anti EV mob.
