Pathetic
It’s one in the morning. I’m on the third floor of the house. The noise is spread across maybe two boroughs. Oh, and there is a river and an island in the mix too l. Who knows at this time of the morning what the postcode is. I don’t know the postcode because I cannot see the source. Okay I’d say find the source on a map. It shows the A303 on a white background. Guess what? It’s a white Google map. Very useful especially if you happen to have Google map. The A303 is maybe 200 miles away. I cannot get the map to move out so I can select a location on the Elmbridge/Richmond border. Obviously the this app has been tested in the real world with real maps near rivers and islands near a real source of noise …. I don’t think. Back to the drawing board boys and girls.

Only picks up noise close to phone
In the end you are on your own as councils are getting people to download this rather than provide recording equipment. Phones are designed to pick up noise close to your microphone not when your neighbours are making your neighbours are making your life hell through a wall, so on review your tenancy team constantly tell you they can’t hear anything.
It also takes ages to open and find record as opposed to pressing a simple button you would have if the council provided the proper equipment, so once you have done this you’ve lost half the evidence you are trying to capture. Useless

Super unfriendly interface. Previous version was much more easy to use. App keeps turning off while recording still taking place. Previous version was easy to monitor the level of noise, thanks to the moving volume bars, when this one showing only microphone symbol.
After recording been played back only white noise is heard, not what actually been recorded. Useless.
