How do I get started?
- Maybank customers:
(i) With M2U ID - simply log in with your M2U ID and all your M2U settings will be automatically synced with the MAE app.
(ii) Without M2U ID - register for one online on the Maybank2u website.
- Non-Maybank customers: skip the queue at the branch and sign up instantly with just your phone to enjoy all the benefits of a Maybank customer.
The MAE app will seek permission for the following:
i. Access to your camera to enable you to scan QR code and also upload documents when you apply for a new product or service.
ii. Access to your contact directory to give you the convenience of selecting your contacts when you make a transaction to a mobile number.
iii. Access to your location to offer you the most relevant food listings, marketing promotions or deals by our merchant partners while you are on the go.
iv. Access to your phone’s audio to enable you to make a direct call to the bank's hotline.
v. Access to your settings to enable push notifications to receive Secure2u alerts.

Bad user experience, fancy bank app
I want to rate 0 ZERO star if iOS allows!!! Next year I will slowly move away my business account to another bank enough is enough as today I try to make an emergency business transaction and I found myself has locked out due to secure2u can’t work with same phone. Really bad design for business and personal accounts owners. goto their branch and they suggest me to use 2 phone. Seriously? And the guy behind also came for same problem. Why it’s so hard for us to switch accounts? WHY NOT account with SAME IC tie to a SAME PHONE? login and logout and rebind devices… super counter intuitive. Also this is banking app remember maybank is a bank not some fancy payment app like tng. Is too much promotion and advertisements. I want a button to close all promo and see nothings except my account stuff. *update 22 Nov 23 - I had disable all notifications except receive money in MAE setting since day one and I still receive notifications “Tap Tag..standup to win up to rm 5” yesterday, seriously don’t ask your customer to mute via phone settings, just don’t send anything except transaction related. Such irresponsible response from support. Annoying and unprofessional:(

Spam with promotions / decorative quick actions
Spending Summary way below annoying promotions or ads. I bet most user didn’t notice it until spare times to scroll down for security purpose. It called Summary for a reason and should be on the first pages. If one worry about information privacy, why even open the app in front of stranger faces? E-duit and secure2u is the last function I going to use. If you giving user to toggle the interface, why these 2 function keep appear as the first and second even though I try every effort to swap it out? Kill switch is actually way more crucial function and there is no quick action about this. Seriously, is there any of your member actually using the app or MAE is just a tool for you guys to show off in stakeholders meetings? I do understand about business consensus in returns for developing this app but too much is too much. Try to balancing between saving cost and marketing for potential income ya. App is and will rated according to user experience.

Some features are not working at all and worst customer service
If maybank is really into digitalisation, pls at least resolve customer encounters without keep asking customer referring to the nearest branch.
Firstly, I was told my monthly transaction limit was reached. The customer service said that nvm, I can still withdraw my money at the nearest branch. So finally I got a chance to try out ATM cash out that I have activated few weeks ago. You know what, the app told me to wait at least 24 hrs following activation, marvellous maybank! So I gave my mae card a shot and you are right, not working at all! Nvm, I brought this issue up to the Facebook customer service again, and yep I was told to refer to the nearest branch!
Maybank maybank maybank, you might as well abolish your social media accounts and mae app, I don’t feel like you guys are going full force with digitalisation. Other banks or e wallet are putting much more effort and sincerity into this field. What about you maybank? Are u guys still sticking with your traditional way of doing business that bring less convenience to your customers?
