Biometrics doesn’t work for banking app
For the banking app only signing in with biometrics is no longer possible. It keeps saying the log in information is incorrect. However for the mutual funds and pensions sections this is not the case - biometrics works fine there.
Also I liked the feature in the previous app where I could simply swipe between the banking, mutual funds, pensions log in pages easily. It would be nice if that feature could be reintroduced.
That said, it’s a good upgrade overall. I like the new send receipt feature when a transfer is done 👍🏽

Thank you for the feedback. For to enable the biometric function kindly follow the steps below;
1. Goto Settings > General > iPhone Storage
2. Select the app.
3. Click on “Delete App”.
4. Shutdown and restart phone.
5. Go to the App store and download the Stanbic IBTC app.
6. Turn on Biometrics from settings on the home page and “Save Internet Banking ID” on the login page.
7. Attempt login.
If you are referring to being able to swipe between the banking and mutual funds without logging on the platform individually is not available as the account works in two different platforms.
Issues with biometrics
The upgrade looks good aesthetically, however while using the app, the portal automatically signs me out, and the the biometric feature freezes instantly. To login again, I have to restart my device. If this issue is fixed as soon as possible, this would be one of the most user-friendly banking apps available.
I updated the app today, and it seems the problem is worse. My app crashed four times in less than 10 minutes, and I had to restart my phone each time to be able to log in again. The biometric feature refused to work each time the app crashed, and the only way to get it to work was to restart my phone. Please rectify this issue as soon as possible, to enable me use the app seamlessly.

Taking several steps back.
I was seriously looking forward to the update and I was hoping that it would fix one of my major gripes with the previous version. Recharging airtime.
In the previous version recharging my phone’s airtime worked seamlessly but it simply refused to save my number or any number being recharged as a beneficiary.
In this new version selecting the “buy airtime” option completely crashes the app. 🤦🏽
Another issue is logging in. I don’t know what the QA and Testers were doing by having us take additional steps to login to the app.
Other than these issues the application’s aesthetics have improved dramatically. Super gorgeous UI.
Fix the buy airtime button + any other bug mentioned and you’ll have yourselves a killer app.
In summary, Stanbic took several steps back, which is frustratingly difficult for your consumer market (Personal accounts, not corporate ones). I loved their previous platform and while the aesthetic has been improved, the functionality is profoundly worse. Get some QA Stanbic, it would help.
I’m considering porting to another bank due to the UI of your mobile app. Ridiculous.
