FAST ONLINE ACCOUNT OPENING
1 government ID and 5 minutes are all you need to open a BPI savings account. Open an account with your Passport, Driver's License, Postal ID, SSS ID, PRC ID, or UMID. No need to go to the branch. Once the account is opened, you can immediately access BPI online banking services!

ACCOUNT QR CODES

The app is a downgrade from the old app. I read the release notes. They mentioned enhancements and new features - things that are not as important as (1) app running efficiently, (2) app being secure without compromising ease of use, and (3) being able to use the app without sorting through ugly UI. Seriously, the app is ugly. It’s like they didn’t hire anyone knowledgeable about UI/UX and just went with a mockup of an intern. Not the intern’s fault tho. Blame whoever approved the ugly design. The way info is organized on the app goes against the natural movement of the eye. Visually headache inducing. Until there is a design overhaul, I’ll be using the old app or use the website.
Edit: they also updated the website to use the same ugly UI. Bonus part is that you can’t do transactions without the mobile key. Only problem is that the mobile key is accessed from the app…that is still having registration issues! The new BPI app killed online transactions.
Does not recognize the same device upon changing numbers
I had a very disappointing usage of the new app. I recently downloaded the new app and deleted the old one as requested. When trying to pay bills, it kept telling me to accept the Mobile Key on my iPhone 11, which is the same device I am using. Apparently it was asking me to accept it on the old app which I already deleted and can no longer redownload. Therefore I had to re register the Mobile Key again and sent the OTP to my registered number which I used to set up but then an error received “We are unable to process at this time.”. So I tried again but this time no OTP. I tried everyday for 3 days, nothing. I restarted my phone and removed the sim, still nothing. In the end, I bought a new number and registered that as my default which I needed to confirm on an ATM machine first. Imagine the inconvenience and hassle just to update my number!
Then I went abroad and uses a different sim to use there and when I got back to the Philippines, changes back to my simcard and wanted to pay a bill, it asked me to register my device again and setup Mobile Key.
Seems the app cannot recognize the same device! This needs to be fixed!
New app doesn’t send OTP to activate mobile key. Deleted and reinstalled- can’t even register now
I’m living abroad for 5 years now… Downloaded the new app last October after I can’t open the old one. I was able to register but I can’t do any transactions coz my mobile key can’t be activated via OTP- it is not sending to my registered BG number. I did report the issue and they said to send a screen recording showing OTP is not being received. I did. They said wait for 4 business day. 4 days has lapsed - still no progress. My bills in the Philippines are piling up and BPI is my only active bank account to do all my finances…
I read in suggestions to delete and reinstall the app. Which I did, but now I can’t even pass tru VERIFICATION. I tried COUNTLESS TIMES to delete, reinstall, delete all previous text verification texts (as suggested by customer service after 3x of reporting the issue) but all I get is TRY AGAIN LATER. Why did you launched this defective app when the old one was working fine? Hope you fix this soon. I wasted too much money calling in just be advise to try again coz it’s the only way. The stress you gave your clients are unimaginable.
