First off, right after installing the intoxilock my check engine light came on and my vehicle started operating poorly, having less power than normal and lurching movements when moving at slow speeds. This did NOT happen before the installation. The app is minutely helpful, really only being useful since they force you to download it. The device itself is beyond stupid, providing driving distractions at random intervals throughout your trips. Not even once did the device go off at a “convenient” time and instead it consistently would go off when I was in the middle of NEEDING to pay attention to the road. Furthermore the intoxilock has a restart vehicle function that gives 3 minutes after turning off your car for you to restart the vehicle without having the use the decvixe. HOWEVER most of the time that you restart the vehicle within those 3 minutes it will almost immediately demand a random retest, at that point why even have the 3 minute restart time. Yes I’m aware that a DUI is the reason I have the device in my car, but it is by far the most insane thing to think will help prevent drunk driving. The device itself is a scam designed to milk your bank account completely dry and leave you suffering. Anyone with a healthy amount of “spending money” is going to hardly notice the impact the device has while I’m struggling to pay $145 a month for a device that makes my driving LESS SAFE!

I love having to blow every 10 minutes, it’s really relaxing when you don’t blow hard enough cause you ran out of breath. Especially when getting into your car in 100 degrees after working outside all day. Then it beeps and goes crazy, the button usually doesn’t work so that helps. Lost remote start, Apple CarPlay, ability to adjust my cars gauge lights which are stuck on the brightest setting. Oh also cannot turn on or off my lights automatically and even better lost all power to my usb charging ports. My cars a 2016 and worked totally fine before. It’s pretty dangerous and more likely to cause an accident in my opinion, considering having my phone die and not knowing where to go (charging ports don’t work anymore). Having to blow while driving then saying blow/breathe harder, which the button rarely works so it’s beeping and going crazy which takes your eyes off road. At night driving with brightness on high since I lost ability to control that, more likely to cause an accident with glare and eye strain. Having to look at my phone for gps since I lost the ability to use my Apple CarPlay. When it’s storming and raining I can’t turn my lights on manually since I lost that, more likely to cause an accident and is also against the law. Customer support is horrible, can’t ever understand the people. Can’t update my card on the app or website since it doesn’t let my keyboard pull up. Gives false failed test also. All around I highly recommend this device and company, keeps drivers safe on the road.

App: Designed to make it impossible to reach a person. No way to troubleshoot anything outside of a lockout. Company: So many fees! Even after you get your device removed, they keep charging you unless you’re wise enough to read in the small print that you have to cancel roadside assistance separately by email (I was not, so now I’m dealing with trying to get refunded). The representatives lie to you. Ask for a manager every time. The phone menu takes on average about 20 minutes to fight through including wait time. Device: I’ve gone through four car batteries (yes, even though I always put it in “power saver” mode). Now I’ve had it removed and my alternator is a goner. I’ve had to have my car jumped and towed so many times, then I got charged $175 for a lockout fee even though my device wasn’t locked out — my battery was just dead because a faulty interlock device was installed that was draining my battery power way more than it was supposed to. Representatives have told me over and over I would be refunded to my bank account, which still has not happened. Even the people at the auto shop I go to hate these guys because they are incompetent liars and a nightmare to deal with. CHOOSE ANOTHER COMPANY IF YOU CAN! I wish I did — it would have saved me literally THOUSANDS of dollars. This company makes getting a DUI, which is already a difficult experience, so much more difficult.

This company has been a nightmare to work with. They will scam you out of money any chance they can. You have no choice. They will deduct from your account and there is no chance of getting it back. There have been multiple issues with their equipment which has resulted in hundreds of dollars$$$! They refuse to credit my account even when the issue is regarding their equipment and/or service. The app has many flaws, including scheduling the mandatory equipment calibrations. You have to wait on hold for sometimes hours just to be told they won’t help you. They will refuse to wait on the phone so you can verify the issue has been resolved, which means you will need to call back and wait on hold to continue to try to get them to help. I usually wait 45min per call. I need to call every time a calibration is needed and every time the equipment malfunctions, which has consistently been before a calibration is required. Each time costs $75, plus service fees to have it reset, including the potential hours on the phone. One of the issues included having to have my vehicle towed because their equipment is not very reliable. This results in hundreds of dollars in towing fees, which they refused to credit me back even though it was their fault. Avoid this company if have possibly can. They have been a scam to take as much money as possible.
