I have to admit, I gazed through the window at Club Pilates several times before finally scheduling an introductory session. For reference- I’ve tried a few boutique style clubs, and quite honestly- didn’t care for the stuffy, “South Charlotte” attitude. I was also not convinced I would get as intense a work out as I was used to getting with a personal trainer. I reached out to CP via IG and Jenny immediately got back to me with a class schedule, C19 protocol and other helpful instructions. I showed up to take the introductory class Saturday and was met with cheerful greetings by Jenny and Stacy. The other class members were also cheerful and the air was genuinely welcoming. Sarah, the instructor, walked the class through the history of Pilates and how the straps, clasps, bars and other pieces of equipment work. I was immediately “hooked”. I signed up and took my second and third classes Sunday and Monday. Both instructors, Stacey and Michelle, were as attentive to their class attendants- offering modifications- correcting posture- reminding us to breath, as Sarah was. The only complaint- and it’s not much of one- is the class schedule. I work 10-6 and would really appreciate a class before 8:00am or after 7:00 pm. Until then, I’m squeezing the 8:30 weekday and as many weekend classes in as often as I can. This is a fantastic club and I look forward to growing stronger and leaner here.

Club Pilates popped up on my IG feed as an ad, and I always research off of the IG platform to find out is this real, was the special rate I saw available real, etc. I found a Pilates studio in my area and the deal was legit. It should be stayed up front any type of discount will apply after the initial charge for classes at full price though. This studio offers “Hero” discounts (military, nurses, teachers, firefighters and EMTs). I use Pilates for the days I am not doing strength training with weights and/or cardio. I have completed four classes and have loved it so far. The app is very easy and simple to use. The studio does not steal your money if you sign up for class and have to cancel. You can make the class up. Memberships are month to month so cancel at any time, but classes don’t roll over; so use what you pay for in that month. This is an excellent alternative to yoga. I personally get bored in downward dog position for 3-5 minutes. Pilates incorporates a tad bit of strength training combined with yoga type poses and moves. Much more entertaining for me. The app always used to send a push notification when you made it off the Waitlist and got in to a class. In the latest update, it no longer sends a push notification at all when you make it off the waitlist. Which is super inconvenient! Please fix this ASAP! We need to know when we get booked for a class!They still send a bunch of other superfluous reminder push notifications all the time, but the waitlist notifications were one of the most logistically important, and now they’re missing! If the app were to let you add waitlisted classes to your calendar app too, or do it automatically for you when they get booked, that would be helpful. But it normally only lets you add prebooked classes to your calendar - and that has to be done manually. The push notifications about the waitlist were useful so that we could then go add that class to our calendar app.So now, when you do get into a class off the waitlist, not only is it not on your calendar, now the app doesn’t even bother to notify you that you’re now booked for a class! It’s annoying to have to constantly babysit the app and go into it to compare my schedule of booked/waitlisted classes to what’s already on my calendar and what’s missing.I’m now always worried that I’ll accidentally miss a class I was originally waitlisted for, or I’m constantly accidentally adding the same class to my calendar twice.Just bring back the waitlist push notifications, PLEASE!!!!

This review is for the app and not my experience at the studio itself. Overall, I like that there’s an app that I can use to book classes. However, as an unlimited member, it’s not the best experience. Here are my biggest issues: 1. Filters: please add the ability to filter by level, and if the class is full. I don’t need to see level 2 classes if I’m in level 1. P 2. View and sort multiple locations: it took me weeks to realize how to view multiple locations. It’s not obvious and it’s not clear which locations are included in my unlimited membership vs which ones I would have to pay for. Please also add the ability to sort by location. 3. PLEASE change the swipe motion for booking a class. Everytime I am trying to look at future classes, I have to eventually swipe and certain days disappear out of view which is super frustrating and requires me to close out of the app. Please just make it a calendar view like the “schedule” tab 4. Disclose that you only get to book so many classes in advance: I was never told that I could only book so many classes in advance - just that I got the 60 day window. So it was to my surprise when the app blocked me from booking any more classes. This should be disclosed to members at the time of signing up for their membership “book up to X classes at a time, 60 days out”
