Needs Some Work Before Being A Gluten Free Resource
If you’re like me (Celiac disease), you’ve been pelted with Atly ads lately, saying it is THE gluten free restaurant guide app. I’m here to tell you that’s not quite the case yet. I appreciate them reaching out to restaurants for confirmation of safety, but most of the reviews on there currently are just any reviews featuring “gluten free” pulled from Google and don’t provide the kind of first-hand experience that Find Me Gluten Free gives you. I could see this being a great resource one day, but right now if you’re using it for GF recommendations it’s not worth $20 a month

Hey Video010, we'd love to hear your feedback and thoughts - it really helps us improve! Please email us at info@atly.com
Celiac? Maybe stick to FMGF for now
I got my hopes up after seeing an ad for Atly and it even had me fill out a survey about my GF requirements and how careful I am, so I expected to see those answers reflected in the app, or at least the ability to filter by them. Unfortunately when you get into the app, it’s just another review site with a map and an overwhelming number of filters, nothing guiding you to GF info. I believe there might be more features behind the paywall, but after the loss of trust going from the excitement from the ad to feeling like I pulled up Yelp But New, I haven’t been interested in setting up a trial I’ll need to put extra work in to use to know if I want to keep it or cancel.
I’m not uninstalling the app yet because I do have hope and want to give this app a fair shot at proving themselves to be the app the ad framed them as, and I will update this review if my feelings change. I’m writing this review to put pressure on the execs who decided to put the cart before the horse so much with the ad campaign. Those of us with celiac rely so much on trust and our community, so trust should be a pillar of a product designed for us. Or you should clearly label that you aren’t for us, that’s fine too, just let us know and don’t advertise to us if you aren’t backing it up

Hi awillisson, we really appreciate that you took the time to write out your concerns. We have a map with over 170K restaurants worldwide - perhaps the quiz directed you to the main app homepage? We'd love to help and hear your thoughts too, please email us at info@atly.com
For an app that’s supposed to be helpful, this isn’t it….
The cost of this subscription is insanity. My 4 year old was recently diagnosed with Celiacs, and making sure she’s safe if we go out to eat is a huge priority. However, it’s clear that the developer is just interested in taking advantage of people and making money off of literal illnesses and allergies. Absolutely disgusting. I’ll stick to Find Me GF, and recommend you do the same.
UPDATE - As you can see, I was given the same tired, repetitive response that so many others were. Based on some simple searching, it appears that Atly has about 38 employees and raised 18 million dollars about a year ago, and one of their top investors is Target. So, I don’t really believe you’re hurting for money. I stand by what I said - the cost of your subscription is insanely high.

We'd love to offer our map for free... but unfortunately, it's impossible. Our entire team moderates the GF map daily; we work with celiac healthcare professionals to help establish safety classifications for restaurants and check thousands of restaurants each week. We do offer a free 7-day trial, so you can try it before paying :)
