Highest rated top 5 weather application.
Thanks to everyone for making MyRadar so successful, with over 50 million downloads!
MyRadar is a fast, powerful, easy-to-use weather app that displays animated weather radar around your current location and to quickly show what weather is coming your way. Just start the app; your location pops up with animated live radar, with radar loop lengths of up to two hours. This basic functionality provides the quickest way to get a snapshot of the weather on-the-go, and it's what has made MyRadar so successful over the years. Check your phone and get an instant assessment of the weather that will impact your day.
One of the most useful features in MyRadar is the ability to provide advanced rain alerts; our patent-pending process for predicting hyper-local rainfall is the most accurate in the industry. Instead of having to check the app all the time, MyRadar will send you an alert up to an hour in advance as to when the rain will arrive at your current location, down to the minute, including details on intensity and duration. These alerts can be a life saver when you're on-the-go and don't always have time to check the weather - our systems will proactively do the work for you and let you know in advance before the rain hits.
In addition to the live radar, MyRadar has an ever-increasing list of weather and environmentally-related data layers that you can overlay on top of the map; our animated winds layer shows a breathtaking visual representation of both surface winds and winds at the jetstream level; the frontal boundaries layer shows high and low pressure systems as well as frontal boundaries themselves; the earthquakes layer is a great way to stay on top of the latest reports on seismic activity, completely customizable as to severity and time; our hurricane layer allows users to stay on top of the latest tropical storm and hurricane activity throughout the world; the aviation layer overlays AIRMETs, SIGMETs and other aviation-related data, including the ability to track flights and display their IFR flight plans and paths, and the "wildfires" layer allows users to stay abreast of the latest fire activity around the United States.
MyRadar also has the ability to send weather and environmental alerts, including alerts from the National Weather Service, such as Tornado and Severe Weather alerts. A new feature introduced in this version of MyRadar includes the ability to receive alerts based off of Tropical Storm and Hurricane activity; you can configure the app to send you an alert any time a tropical storm or hurricane forms, or is upgraded or downgraded.
In addition to the free features of the app, additional upgrades are available, including real-time hurricane tracking - great for the start of hurricane season. The hurricane tracker provides additional data above and beyond the free version, including the cone of probability for tropical storm/hurricane forecast tracks, and it also includes a detailed synopsis from the National Hurricane Center. The premium upgrades also include the professional radar pack, which allows greater detail of radar from individual stations. Users can select individual radar stations around the US, select the radar tilt angle, and also change the radar product being displayed, including base reflectivity and wind velocity - great for experienced weather buffs looks to stay on top of possible tornado formation.

I have been searching for a good weather app for months now. It gets really annoying sometimes because either the weather app spans you with ads or they make you pay crazy amounts of money just to see an hourly forecast. Now if you are using an iPhone this app is not necessary but I still recommend you highly to download it. The reason is because iPhone already has a default weather app. On the other hand, iPad doesn’t have the default weather app. If you are an iPad user you must download this app. My first reason is: this app is a combination of a radar and accurate forecast. On the apple default app, they only give you a forecast. The second reason: it gives you notifications about emergency situations such as tornados. My third reason: this app is very customizable. Even without paying the subscription, you can customize it however you like. The fourth reason: it gives you a detailed description of the weather. It shows you what it feels like. It gives you the week forecast, hourly forecast and much more! I recommend this app for everyone. Don’t waste your time on other apps with too many ads. Even though this app has a few ads, they don’t take up the whole screen and they don’t come constantly. If you want a good weather app, download this app. A lot of the apps out there make you pay a lot of money to download their apps. This app is free! A huge thanks to the developers for creating such a good weather app. I hope you can make nice improvements that will make this app even better for user!
Almost perfect
discerning learner
This is a really good app for people who check the weather a lot. The only problem is that the presentation is not as simple as it could be and so there is a learning curve for using it. But once you've suffered through that for about a week it's really quite good. Pro's: it provides nice graphs so that you can see trends over time, and, of course, radar views so that you can see geographical trends. When compared to two other apps that I use, it seems to be on the more accurate side. Neg's: it's difficult to get a quick answer to the question "What % chance that it's going to rain when I plan to do such and such today?" I know it's a difficult question but it's extremely practical so it's best answered with a time trend line. Yes, you can get that, but you have to do several swipes and dig down a bit. The widgets don't seem to work all the time (at least for me) - that would be the best place to provide that answer but I haven't figured out how to do that (if it's even possible). Next best would be to have the option for it to show up in the summary at the top of the main view (that shows the temperature trend line, and minimally useful cloud icons). It is a good sign that the app recently came out with a travel feature, which I'm looking forward to testing. In summary, I'm liking it a lot so far but still getting used to it.
Poorly designed for iPhone X

The app has been properly upgraded to support iPhone X, which I appreciate, but the design of important features within the app don’t function very well with iPhone X. For instance, to return to the map after swiping down from the location at the top of the screen, you’re supposed to swipe up from the button of the screen. iPhone X’s home bar has the exact same gesture to return to the iOS home screen, so I often accidentally return to the home screen of my iPhone X instead of returning to the map. Also, the swipe left/right gesture at the top of the app to switch between favorite locations is very finicky and difficult to do on iPhone X without accidentally expanding the information page about that location, which then results in the aforementioned issue happening again.Despite its poor design for iPhone X, the information this app provides after a few of the in-app upgrades is extremely useful and far more substantial than the default iOS weather app, especially when paired with Apple Watch, so it was worth the upgrade fees in my opinion. Just beware of the poor design for iPhone X. Other earlier generation iPhones (Any with a home button instead of a home bar) will not have the same problems I discussed as they only pertain specifically to iPhone X. If you don’t have an iPhone X, or if you do have an iPhone X and are willing to deal with the poor design, this weather app will provide you with more than an adequate amount of information after purchasing some of the upgrades.
If 10 stars were possible this App would get it!

First off, out of the hundreds of Apps I have downloaded and used, I have only taken the time to review one and that was on a popup prompt to do so. This review I am writing without being prompted. This App is that good. I have downloaded several other “top” weather Apps of which many want monthly subscriptions for basic functions. This App blows them all out of the water or maybe I should say the weather. It is so easy to use and extremely intuitive. I breezed around it setting up my notifications, views, and generally orientating myself. Visually it's incredible and provides a myriad of choices concerning appearance (so many layers available) and alerts. Speaking of alerts, there are numerous choices that are easily customizable. There is even one for major earthquakes. Living in California, I left that alert on. The interactive portion of the App is flawless on my iPad air. There is a global view, which I find simply amazing. So far this App has not only exceeded my expectations but has set the bar for other apps to follow. Hats off to the developer for a stand-up job. To those reading this review, don't just take my word for it. Download it now and check it out for yourself. It is free and you would be doing a disservice to yourself if you didn't.
New in 7.119: Dual Pane now works with all weather loops, including Hi-Def Radar, Satellite Animation, and more. It’s no longer limited to per-station radar, so you can mix different weather animations in a dual display. You can also unlink the maps to adjust zoom and centering independently, making it possible to view radar mosaics over a larger area on one map while using per-station radar regionally on the other.
