Description

With Contacts on iOS, iPadOS and macOS, you can store and manage your and other’s contact information, birthdays, Contact Posters and more. Easily connect with your contacts with Mail, Messages, Phone or FaceTime. Or instantly share your Contact Poster and your number or email address with someone new through NameDrop on iPhone and Apple Watch.

Manage Your Contacts
Easily add people to your contacts, and sync their contact information across all your devices with iCloud, Microsoft Exchange, Google and other syncing services. If your contacts choose to, you can automatically get updates to their Contact Poster through Messages, Phone and FaceTime as well.

Get Connected Quickly
When you need a contact’s information, you can search to find who you’re looking for. You can then quickly message, call, FaceTime, email or even Apple Pay them. If you add their social profile to their contact card, you can jump to it with a tap. And if you add their birthday, you’ll also see it in Calendar so you never miss it.

Store Your Personal Information
Create a My Card in Contacts to store your own contact information including your phone numbers, email addresses, physical addresses, and more. You can then use the information in your My Card to use Autofill to instantly complete forms online or in apps across iOS, iPadOS and macOS.

Customize Your Contact Poster
Create a customized poster to represent yourself when you connect with others using Messages, Phone and FaceTime. Choose from various treatments for photos, Memoji and your name, and choose to automatically share it with your contacts or be asked every time before you share.

Share your Contact with NameDrop
Exchange contact information with someone new by simply bringing your iPhone near their iPhone or Apple Watch. Your name and Contact Poster are automatically included every time, and you can select the phone number or email address you want to share from your My Card along with it.

Use Contacts on Apple Watch
Select people from your contacts to use as a complication on your watch face for easy access, and quickly connect with them through Messages, Phone or Mail right from your wrist. You can also create new contacts and customize existing contacts, or exchange contact information with someone new using NameDrop with their iPhone or Apple Watch.

Good app but missing a key feature!

Contacts needs the ability to Adler coded & key worded TAGS just like the apple Notes and Files apps. We also need the ability to sort , group or search for contacts by such tags. Now the only alternative is adding a note or putting a company name or creating a custom field for each contact.
Imagine meeting a group of people at a networking event exchanging contact info and now they are lost in the mix of 100s or 1000s of contacts on your phone.
I meet new people at events and have to search to find those new contacts without any context if I’m quickly exchanging info especially now with the tap to share features of iOS 17+. Apple please fix this or add these much needed features Apple contacts needs this update searchable tags like notes reminders, files etc. most of the other Apple apps have this.

Contacts in IOS 17.1 is AWFUL

I just upgraded to IOS 17.1. The NEW Contacts feature is terrible. I don’t put that many pictures in my contacts, but I tried to do it today.
When you tap on the contact name, you wind up with a HUGE section at the top that has the contact name , a place for a HUGE poster, and a line of icons for if you want to message, call, etc. Again, this is half the screen. You have to scroll down, and scroll, and scroll to get to the rest of the info. Very annoying. If you stupidly decide to do a “poster” then you can select from a photo which of course needs cropping and never really fits right in the circle allowed. You can do letters in Colors with your choice of font. Wow! I’m underwhelmed. It too had to fit in the circle. Good luck. You can select from about 15 or so emojis, or you can draw your own comedic pic of some person, by going through a zillion choices to create the image. And if you don’t like any of it, I found no way to get back to the original screen that is blank but still takes up nearly half the page. . I had to take pictures of the entire contact info page, delete that contact , and then put it in new. IOW Apple did it again. They did a big change to a feature that really worked great as it was. Waste of time. It’s ugly and cumbersome now. I want the previous address book back. It was simple and worked just fine.
