I appreciate how I can complete my physical therapy at various times of the day, each day, to be able to fit this into my busy schedule. I also feel motivated to do this every day for the convenience and also knowing these exercises are getting me back to my normal self. Usually when you go into see a physical therapist, they only work the “bad” arm or leg, etc. After I complete my session, I will repeat exercises on the opposite limb, to get a balanced session ( by memory and not following along with the sensors). It’s hard to do that when you go in to the therapist’s office. It helps keep me accountable also knowing my physical therapist is aware of my progress. I like also that I can reach out to them and they will get back to me, though sometimes it does take a little bit, they always get back to me, and are more than helpful in answering any questions or any concerns that I have. Even going the extra mile offering resources from the site that I didn’t realize were there. I appreciate this program better than going to see a physical therapist in person. The only negative is that sometimes the sensors don’t track properly. It has happened with one exercise where, no matter what I did, I couldn’t get it to track the movement. I skipped it, and after my physical therapist tried giving me some cues, I tried again and she finally just removed it and replaced it with something that would be just as effective for my rehabilitation. Also, I’ve had to adjust the sensor by my wrist for certain movements since it would read weaker than what I was doing, but I figured it out and just adjust slightly for that movement. No biggie! I’m so glad that this is available!

Exceeds expectations

Being a former NCAA division one wrestler from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I did not have a lot of confidence that a physical therapy program administered through a tablet would be highly effective. Although the program starts out slowly and in a rudimentary fashion, you begin doing basic exercises. The ergonomic tracker works well though not perfect, but it includes a positive reinforcement system when you're doing your exercises correctly. After about six weeks, the intensity of the program turns up appropriately and I began to see improvement in my core strength and diminishing of my waist size. Now at 20 weeks my program has increased to up to 24 minutes of intense exercise and I have a good sweat going. Overall, in total I lost over 10 pounds and this program for exceeded my expectations. Give it a shot. You have nothing to lose. We all have 12 minutes and you can do the program literally anywhere. Most importantly, improvement in my back pain has been realized, and though I have bad days, the weight loss and improvement of my overall health made the program more than valuable.

One of the worst designed apps ever / completely useless / they must’ve paid for these other reviews

Sword Health App doesn’t respect user light/dark mode preferences nor font size preferences / it should be pulled down off the App Store for systematically overriding user settings. physical therapy is often a lot of older folks with less than perfect eyes - the font sizes in the app (across the board) even on a Pro Max phone are almost entirely unreadable and the worst part is that their support people don’t seem to care one bit. I’ve made multiple attempts via multiple conduits over the course of 7 months / literally nothing has come of it. So here is the 1 ⭐️ that you earned yourselves Sword Health. I think this one is destined for the trash bin. ** oh also be aware that they now want to start recording your images and video when you do therapy with them / which means they’re first instinct is to try and invade your privacy for their benefit / SERIOUSLY think about that before you use them. About a month ago I spoke to an executive at Sword Health because I have had so many issues / I was promised all kinds of changes coming to the app and onto the tablet software / literally nothing has changed / It’s been a string of lies since the very beginning. / I don’t know if these people mean well and they’re just extremely bad at their jobs or if there is an issue with the company falling apart / because nothing is getting done.

The future of physical therapy

I’m not sure where I would be without this program. I recently had surgery on my knee after an injury resulting in a meniscus tear and a fracture. I also travel for a living. Immediately following surgery I was able to go to physical therapy at the ortho clinic, but I also needed to return to work. That’s when Sword was recommended to me. What a game changer!!I would not be where I am in my recovery right now without this program. It is simple to use. It’s convenient and I can use it anywhere. I can communicate with my therapist both by text and video if I need help. The exercises are specifically tailored to my needs. The entire concept in genius. I have just finished my third week of therapy using the program and traveling. I can’t imagine where I would be physically if I would have had to return to work and travel without any therapy or having to try and figure it out on my own. I’m thankful that I don’t have to imagine that and I can’t spend time thinking about what I’ll be doing when I’m back to 100%!
