Being a student this app has made my life so much easier. As like most teenagers I basically have my phone with me everywhere I go so when I am at school I can just pull out my phone and have a look at my timetable and the daily notices. Even when a teacher is away it tells you who you have instead or even is you have a room change which I super handy so that you know where you are going. Even if you are away or something teachers can put up lesson plans of what you do in class and they can also put up any assessments if you have any. This app can also send messages to parents if your child was absent from school so that you are aware or if you know they are going to be away instead of having to write a note all the time you can just do it online so that way you know that the message was receive can by the school and you dont have to worry about your child having to hand on the note and then receiveing unexplained absence. I have found this app has made school so much easier for both the students and the teachers
User unfriendly- needs a lot of work
As parent, the cons outweigh the pros.
I have one child who require a lot of medical appointments but not away sick and another child who can miss up to 4 weeks a year representing school, state and Australia. - both reported to DHS as ‘parents choice’.
When phoned I was told the guidelines to choose between truancy, religious, bereaved or parents choice was the DHS guidelines?
Surely most absentees are due to illness, appointments or music / sporting achievements?
Secondly, I received an email ‘click here’ if you are changing schools. With NO warning that I would lose access to all of my child’s information immediately? Given reports are only done through this portal - an option to at least print, download or email seemed to be common sense omitted?
Thirdly, not sure how the back end is reported but phoning the business for help after being on hold for more than half n hour simply leads back to the circle of ask the school?
Now I need to arrange with previous school to access all information and print as the compass red button has been pressed? - they can’t even access the account or give me a password to access. In my opinion basic oversights here that cause a lot of distress and wasting time for all.
Get the basics right, it won’t be hard to top this app for schools / families. Great idea, poorly executed
This app is mostly good. I’d like to be able to see and process payments for Events on the app, or at least get a notification that new Events have been added. Currently there is no way of knowing an Event has been added without logging into the website version.
Also, when I check my child’s Dashboard, the date option doesn’t appear until I have selected an activity and then returned to the dashboard screen. This means on days where she has no activities ie weekends, we’re unable to check what activities are coming up over the next few days.
Otherwise I find it fairly user friendly.
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
