Don’t be hating.
Not sure why everyone in hating on the app so much. I’ve had a great experience, it shows my trips even when booked through different payment sources, personal and corporate travel and the interface even managed some splits and adjustments that have happened due to shifts in travel plans.
Updated within minutes sometimes of getting off the phone after adjusting my flights.
Very poor seat confirmation and check in experience
Booked tickets seamlessly, requested seats in economy x payed and all seemed right, had our seat confirmation, so all should be good right? Well…. Went to check in and that’s where it all went wrong. Couldn’t do it online, no worries we get there early and go to the service desk and they apologise as it didn’t seem to charge us for our requested upgrade, so even though we had confirmation we apparently didn’t. Should be able to pay in app? Nope. Staff at Perth very professional and were able to give us our requested seats. Get to Melbourne side coming home however, same problem, go to check in, has our supposed assigned seats but couldn’t check in, wouldn’t allow us to pay for our already requested upgrade, and to make matters worse, my partner and I were unable to sit together. We are both taller so the reason we book bigger seats is both for our and our fellow travellers comfort. So apologies to whoever I got thrown behind, my knees right up in your back is all on virgin not me. Yes we were more than happy to pay extra even though it was virgins fault that our upgrade didn’t go through originally, money was never the issue, but the fact we couldn’t pay later or get any prompts to pay more, then be able to sort in app is extremely sub standard.
Pretty sure it costs the same to get a better experience with qantas without getting shafted when you’re just trying to get home…
Spare yourselves.
The Virgin Air app and website are ok, just a little clunky to navigate / use
The Virgin Air app and website struggle to log in at times with your correct linked and only email. It appears to prefer your frequent flyer number and password combination.
It’s hard to find where to add a new trip booked externally for you by work etc…
and additionally if you can work out how to add your trip in the full site or the app, they don’t seem to communicate with one another and won’t appear simultaneously till done on each seperate site individually. Finally if you don’t have the airline booking reference number, there is no option to proceed sadly.
It would be good if these things along with better customisation options were available :)
