We are using Augmented Reality within the app that brings to life what’s inside your food and drink right in front of your eyes! There are certain limitations depending on what device you have and if your device supports ARCore. If it doesn’t not to worry we will show you a 3D scenario instead so you won’t miss out on all the fun.
The app is based on the most widespread data available to us. We're continuously working to improve it and we're adding more and more products all the time.
The nutrient data in this app is supplied by Brand Bank and Food Switch.
The number of sugar cubes, sat fat and salt sachets shown in app are based on grams per pack/100g/ml/portion when that information is available.
The weight of one sugar cube is equal to 4 grams
The weight on one sat fat lump is equal to 1 gram
The weight of one salt sachet is equal to 0.5 grams
Now updated to feature AR that brings to life what’s inside your food and drink right in front of your eyes! See the sugar, saturated fat and salt come to life using your phone. And see special AR ‘rewards’ when you find healthier items with the High-5 Badge.

Could be good but not accurate?
I’m using the app to try and cut down on my sugar. This is an improvement on the previous app, but there are some foods coming up as high/medium sugar when the label indicates they are low e.g. double cream is (Waitrose essential) is 2.6g of sugar per 100ml and should be low. Plus it’s all just naturally occurring sugars.
I downloaded this to help me eat healthier, along with the Smart Recipes app. I thought I was pretty knowledgeable about how healthy / unhealthy foods are, but going around my cupboards I got a shock! Turns out we are buying a lot of unhealthy foods without realising, no wonder I have a few extra pounds. When you scan something, it shows a traffic light colour (green, orange or red) for sugar, saturated fat and salt. Simple and helpful. There are tips too. So, after discovering how unhealthy (red) our foods are, I’m now going to scan everything before I buy it and only buy things that show as either orange or green, no more things that are red. I think switching to only orange and green foods is a good start for us. This app is so simple and educational. I chose these Change4Life apps because I wanted advice I could trust and I didn’t want to be paying ££s a month for WW or SW advice. I also didn’t want apps with multiple confusing diet options (low this diet, high something else diet), or apps which required me to sign up by email, or make subscription purchases in app. This app fits everything I was looking for along with the Smart Recipes app. Recommend both for everyone.
Great for familys
Working from home 5 days a week has given me more time to look at what me and my family eat. This APP has really helped me in understanding exactly what is good and bad. So much salt in a lot of things I thought would be okay.
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
