I WAS a food “snob” until my wife went to work at Iceland after being redundant from Banking. Each time I would pick her up from work, would take a wander around her small and “forgotten”Store. 21 day aged steak? Fresh fruit? Pizza’s for a £1. Surprised, I was. Then she explained how the Bonus card worked. Hey, they give me 5% cashback? That’s better than my Amex or Visa. Put £100 on at the start of my shop, within 30mins there is £105 to spend! I like this. Now we are over 60, we shop on a Tuesday at the “Food Warehouse”. Do the £100 on my Bonus card, spend £120, get 10% off bill (so £108 after the “over 60 10% discount), pay £105 from my Bonus card, £3 cash. Iceland have just given me £17 discounts on top of the already cheap prices and multi-buys. The “Food Warehouse” is almost as well sticked as my “superstore”Sainsburys, not all the brands, but most of. Just wish it were closer.BTW, no longer a shopper “snob”, just a “careful” shopper

Im. running out of options
I have used my Bonus card in the past but it has been when I’ve purchased Items direct from the store. When I enquired about ordering online. I was informed that the Bonus card had a life of 2years. i had actually had it a great deal longer than that. I rang the head office and they were extremely helpful and quickly issued me with another card which is more apt for use for the current times. This is the second time that I’ve ordered online. It has been slightly confusing, because it came up with Slot expired and I need to Rebook my slot. But it had not reached the expiration time, thats what I couldn’t understand. But I did get to the end of my order in the end. My Bonus card had automatically added on the amount of cash that I was entitled to. This is not a criticism but I am Ceoliac In the be helpful if customers were able to see the Ingredients listed to ensure people who were purchasing items of food that it is safe for them to eat in, this would apply other food allergies as well. Especially in the light that a young man whilst celebrating his 18th birthday, died after eating a Chicken Burger which contained Peanuts, It was recently In the BBCTV News, I realise that I may have mentioned some Points which were Irrelevant, to what I was requested to mention, but I considered that needed to be mentioned. I signed up as there was a deal that I could get in store. Was ok one time. That was months ago. Every other thing since has been online delivery, which costs more than getting delivery from Uber eats, and takes a day longer. Uber eats, 25 mins or less. Iceland 24+ hours unless you want to pay double. I only order for delivery in emergencies because when you order you get the crap. I had to get delivery recently, and remembered why I go in store and pick my own produce. All the meat I ordered was going out of date within 48 hours, I ordered some peppers and the pack I got consisted of two with black stuff growing on them and one that was a third of the size of the normal sized ones. I get that the pick the recent date stuff, but stuff that’s going out of date that soon should not be full price. When I shop in store I can easily find veg that is not mouldy and meat that has a reasonable amount of time before going off. The app is fine if you’re thalli to accept the crap that people leave on the shelves because it’s not even fresh. Iceland isn’t even cheaper than main supermarkets any more, what’s the point of shopping at a budget place like this when there is no budgeting in sight. I’ve started using Morrisons again because Iceland thinks it’s a real supermarket, but with massively inferior stuff. The frozen curries aren’t bad though. They’re not much cheaper than a real curry from the local Indian, plus it’s cheaper delivery from imran. AllIn all. Screw Iceland.
Awful and a rip off, like the stores

I downloaded the app last year and deposited £100 as they were running a promotion for Christmas, giving an extra £15 bonus to load onto your card. A couple of weeks before Christmas, I placed my shop online. I checked my bank account just after I did my shop, the full amount was pending, but I thought that the bonus credit (£120) would be taken out of the figure. It was just before I would receive my shop that the pending payment would disappear altogether. I thought that the credit would be taken out, only to find the the full amount was taken out from my bank a while later. I was fuming at this point. I contacted customer service, but they didn’t want to know; claiming it was my fault that I should’ve phoned them before the payment came out. I didn’t like her tone. I explained that it put me in overdraft, but it felt like “we have your money, tough!!”. To add insult to injury, the said £15 bonus has been deleted. How can I get food in when my freezer is full?!? Meanwhile, I get daily emails on money off promotions. A desperate one-trick pony that has been ravaged by the pandemic and cost of living crisis. Your app is a waste of space and isn’t fit for purpose. Going to try Herons in future!
This update includes:
