What I appreciate about Sky News items is the length of each item that are not too long. Also, for further reading on a particular news story, there are easy to use highlighted links taking me to similar topics. This is especially the case for Brexit, World News and Politics. Also the short videos bring the news stories to life on my iPhone and iPad. Sky News is so much more interesting and engaging than any other news app and their reporters get right to the scene of a natural disaster, for example, when others sit in the safety of their studio. An example is Yemen and Syria where their foreign correspondents are literally with the soldiers on the front line. This makes their reporting credible which is a value I think has been lost to other mediocre news sources.Sky News app is easy to use too with so much choice that I could spend hours and hours reading different news stories. This is good providing a breadth and depth to the headline stories of day. If like me you like credible and accurate news then Sky News app is for you.

1. It’s a bit to graphics heavy. Streamline it. 2. Put a filter/ignore option on for Pete’s sake. The Top Stories section which is the default is absolutely full of the Queens death with not a single story that isn’t related to her passing. I mean come on … I am a supporter of the monarchy but this is just ridiculous, the entire page, 29 news stories and 11 video sections, is about the Queen. Are there no other more important top news stories in the entire world for the last few days? Nothing ? People dying, wars, medical breakthroughs ? How about a bit of balance here! We need to be able to ignore topics so it filters them out of Top News so we’re getting a balanced view. Even World News section has the top 5 stories about the Queen before you get to an important story, North Korea’s decision to pre-emptively strike is far more news worthy. Realistically, as it stands today, World News should be Top News, with one or two stories about the Queen, and ALL the other 27 Queen stories should be put in a dedicated Monarchy/Queens passing section. Don’t get me wrong, I am absolutely a supporter of the monarchy, always have been, always will be, but this is overkill. It’s way too much. It’s on tv, it’s in the papers, it’s across all the news apps, wind it in, it’s not right to flood this across the default story section on your app.Trump, and US politics. You NEED to include a filter option so we can filter all this rubbish out. We don’t care about USA and we certainly don’t care about Trump. Why must we have his every move plastered all over the front page ? We don’t care if Trump is holding a press conference in Los Angeles. Seriously. We are British.

Since I downloaded the latest update to my Ipad6, Sky News has developed an issue. I am unable to play any of the news video clips. I keep getting an error message and a note saying re-tap and try again. I would normally give the Sky News app a five stars rating but this current issue is spoiling my enjoyment. I’ve been using the app for a very long time so it is frustrating when the app doesn’t work properly anymore.I hope the developers can sort the problem out.Update 18 Dec 2025Two years ago I purchased a new iPad10 and have continued to use Sky News app. My major gripe is the ridiculous proliferation of adverts that now bombard you when trying to get to the news. To say the adverts are utterly annoying is an understatement, they have completely ruined what used to be a ‘must have’ application for up-to-date news. Yesterday, I couldn’t even access the Sky News app. I kept getting a message alert that said ‘data cannot be downloaded’ and try again. Despite deleting app and reloading, the app still does not work on my iPad10. However, on my iPad6 the Sky News app is working. What is happening? Can the developers give feedback on this malfunction? Is there a current problem for everyone trying to access the Sky News app at the moment?

Everyone, whether reporting from far-flung areas of the globe or nearer to home, works as a team to bring us the best, detailed, accurate news stories. The reporters go into really dangerous and risky places, so that we can see almost first-hand, precisely what is happening everywhere in the world. Sky News is an outstanding, impressive, news channel with extraordinary graphics and slick, faultless presentation.Love Sarah Mee’s contributions. Also fully appreciate the dangers incurred by the reporters. The ones relating to the hospitals in Bergamo and Naples entailed considerable risks to the reporter, sound man and cameraman, as well as those in China where the Sky team was trying to enter premises to find out the source of the Coronavirus.Impressive.
