Over the years I have suffered with depression anxiety mental health called it what you’re well and have turned to journalling with no success whatsoever and so I didn’t really have much positive journalling. But more recently have turned to sobriety and the changes in my Life have been quite staggering and I find myself looking forward to journalling and putting words on paper that I wouldn’t normally say to somebody else. It is incredibly therapeutic quite emotional at times and when I’m finished, I feel better for doing it. It’s a little bit like doing something that’s not in your comfort zone and feeling a tremendous well-being once you’ve done it. You don’t have to do it every day in my opinion. I just do it when I’ve got something good or bad to say but I don’t do it for the sake of it. I just do it when I’ve got something important to off load.It would be useful to get this app on the iPad as I use my iPad at a more relaxed time of day when I’ve got time for this sort of thing
Literally the greatest journal app ever!

People may think this app is ‘basic’ and ‘simple’, maybe just because it pops up in your iPhone as soon as you buy the phone. But I think there’s so much more to this app than “just another journaling app”. There’s no adds, no pop ups, there’s prompts to help you write- I usually struggle with my mental health and getting to sleep at night. This app has helped me so much! I can just write all my worries down and suddenly I feel so much better! I absolutely love the fact that there’s a day streak it makes me happy knowing that everyday I’ve written something new. Every night when I write about my day, I like to reflect on the other days I’ve written about, seeing the challenges I’ve overcome brings me so much joy!
A clean app, but maybe a little too clean.

This is a beautifully clean design for a journal, but coming from ‘Day One’ this all feels more like a notes app without the functionality. Obviously we’re in early days and I expect Apple will add more. I’d like to see features such as ‘on this day’ to show past entries, it’s a feature I adore on other apps as a way to reflect, remember and reminisce over. I’d also maybe love to attach more content as it seems to tap out at 14 things, so if I wanted to attach my location, I can only then attach 13 photos of my time. I would love to have somewhere that tells me how many entries I have, maybe even a streak in the health app as this is one thing I love from other apps. I currently have over 2770 entries in my other journal with a streak of 1,440 days. I’ll be porting over these each day for a year to complete my transition, so please Apple add these features. Give us a reason to love journaling.
Perfect Journal

If you like keeping a journal or if this is your first one, this is perfect or your perfect start. It will remind you (you can tailor it to suit you when you would like reminders) to do your journal. Use photos and videos and on the “I-Phone” it looks amazing. It gives you your stats at the top of the screen which is great motivation to keep going with it, because if you are like me and are bad at keeping up new routines, I find things like this help. It gives you other little stats at the top of the screen like how long you’ve been keeping the “Journal”. You also have the good electronic reasons for doing it on your “I-Phone”. It can’t go missing. You can’t do spelling mistakes and you also have a multiple choice section to record how healthy your mental health is and again, this is another motivation to see how you mental health is getting on at that specific time you are writing it.
