Microsoft 365 on the iPad: A Frustrating ExperienceAs a long-time user of Microsoft 365, transitioning my workflow onto the iPad seemed like a natural progression, given the device’s reputation for power and versatility. This limitation is not only baffling but also frustrating, as it hinders what could otherwise be a seamless and productive user experience.Comparatively, Apple’s suite of free office apps like Pages and Numbers offers a more integrated and efficient user experience on the iPad. The fudge kind of title is "AI first", like NO ONE WANT AI FIRST WE’RE NOT ROBOTS. I want something thats made FOR humans with HUMAN intelligence. Its so incredibly annoying to have this crapp shoved down my throat at every corner i turn. AI is causing so much pollution in the world and adding to the climate change we’re all facing, so while every sits behind their shiny screen writing up prompts, the environment suffers. Not to mention that generative images steal from every single artist and person that has ever lived and had their images posted online. Its unethical and done without any kind of consent. So if someone generates an image and uses it on something they sell, every artists that the dumb ai bot scraped from the internet don’t get any kind of credit or financial compensation. In short, its stealing. And everyone who’s posted a photo of their face gets their images used against their will too. Additionally, realistic ai images and videos is going to destroy humanity. The amount of fake news and false advertisement that will arise from it will create so much harm and no one seems to care. There are literally SO many books and films that have predicted what would happen, and non of them end well. If this continues then unemployment will go through the roof and half the worlds population probably wont have jobs, and jobs are already hard to get. It will create an even bigger divide between the rich and poor. Ai only benefits the rich. The only reason i have this app is because my college requires us to use it and teams and all that junk for our work, otherwise I’d never have even considered pressing that download button.I wouldn’t doubt that many people who work for Microsoft will also lose their jobs at some point. So many things missing or poorly designed in 365 - free versions of apps were much better ! Unfortunately this app does not work well on iPad. And there are no frequent app modifications , despite paying for 365. Some of my other free apps are updated almost weekly – they appear to be more user focussed.Before contemplating buying the app. for iPad, I suggest the following points be considered.OneDrive is excluded here as it is an excellent app., and well supported. ExcelCannot cut & paste to another excel file as loses empty rows/columns and messes up everything. Paste Special does not do it.Cannot change Chart Title and Axes titles in charts. Seems that saving file first is necessary ! But not specified anywhere.Sheet Protections - set password but need to close file and app. to be effective. Options do not seem to work Dec 2023. WordNo Custom Template constructionNo coloured fonts or highlights despite working several years ago on free versionNo easy access for favourite Fonts - takes ages to find a preferred fontBoth (Word & Excel)No File passwords,unfortunate as key reason I upgraded from free versions to 365.No Add-ins (worked on old free Word on iPad, not 365 !)iPad ProblemsCannot get Skype 60 minutes after much trying Have given up notifying Microsoft as nothing seems to be done; some of the bugs/ unsupported features seem to have been reported years ago.
