The Skinny app makes it easy to manage your account – check your balance, top up, and customise your plan with Add-Ons when you’re on the go.

Do your thing better with the Skinny app:
1. Top up using a voucher, your pre-registered card, or a new card.
2. Check your balance and see if you’re running low on minutes, texts, or data.
3. Get unlimited data for up to 12 hours with Data Binge – perfect for any online bingeing sessions.
4. Manage your plan and Add-Ons ¬– check what plan you’re on and customise it with Add-Ons. You can even switch to a new plan if you want to mix it up.

There are heaps of other cool things that you can do on the app, like transferring credit to your mates, or gifting them with data or minutes. Download the app and start making the most of it.

The app is free, but just a heads up: You’ll use a little bit of data downloading it, so be savvy and hook into some Wi-Fi if you’re running low on data.

*****Handy tips for getting the app setup with your number*****

In the setup you’ll need to enter your mobile number in one of the following ways:
• You can enter your mobile number with the +64 at the front, but make sure you drop the first 0. For example +64 204 123 456
• You can enter your mobile number without the +64 at the front. In this case you keep the first 0. For example 0204 123 456

It’s cheap and it works

I like Skinny - so does my grandson who has just graduated BSc in computer science

I was with the international company who recently changed their name to a number. I changed providers because most of their staff couldn’t count to one

Skinny employs intelligent, helpful staff and their app works brilliantly on my iPhone XR. It’s easy to pay for on the app, and everything works brilliantly. And it’s cheap!

On plan, left stranded without airtime or data

Today I was without data and airtime, as the auto renew payment failed to go through. This bug slipped through and obviously payment renewal was not tested by the developers. When using the built in application for support, one is not able to communicate with a person. All the links within the app takes you to the same chat bot. After calling support, holding for a very long time. I was asked to update the application, while I already have the latest version. They removed my bank card details on their end. Then I re registered the card using the mobile application; Renewed the plan; and and error showed up saying Whoops, something went wrong with the payment failed for unknown reason. The support said no there is nothing wrong, it shows the payment went through. But I say and read the message Cleary that it says and error has occurred, the error dialog is right on ñ front of me. What a Joke!! This repeats a few times. The payment did go through. Told to reboot phone while on call. Really, instead I checked my bank account, payment went off; restart the app; then it works. Whoops skinny your application needs fixing!! I do not want to be left stranded without airtime and unable to make calls again, and be told that nothing is wrong. Your idea of a fix, is not a fix. The bug exists and just refuse to look at it. Switching off auto update here to preserve a working application version, before the IOS dev can break it again😂

Call centre tip

If you get through to the call centre ( in Manila, Phillipines) and you get someone who repeatedly says ‘ I understand’ but clearly does not. Just politely thank him, hang up, redial, took me three goes before I got through to ‘Brian’ who’s English was excellent and he promptly sorted the problem. Not worth persisting with someone who doesn’t understand
