Yuki (Live Agent) is Fantastic!

Was previously with MyRepublic. Received my Giga! SIM card on 29 April and has been trying to complete number porting for 2 days from MyRepublic to Giga!
Porting of number was a nightmare! Kept receiving automated messages that the Number Porting was unsuccessful. Contacted MyRepublic and they highlighted that the request was never received! Hence, it was likely a backend issue with Giga!
Took hours to reach a Giga! Live Agent and it’s no fault of the Live Agent but the chatbot and internal process of routing to the Live Agent since 11am! Was lucky to finally reached a Live Agent around 5.50pm on the same day and through the expert advice from YUKI (Live Agent) to select (M1) as the existing telco instead of (MyRepublic) and she even assured me that she will continue to stay on past 6pm to assist if I still encounter any issues with the Number Porting as Live Agent support is from 9am to 6pm, Mondays to Saturdays. The Number Porting Unsuccessful message has since stopped. Now (fingers crossed) waiting for the Number Porting process to be completed (based on scheduled batch process) and hopefully not spillover to the new billing cycle of my existing telco mobile plan on 1 May!

The network is great with free 1G data for IG/FB almost every other month

Love this network. On top of getting free data almost every other month, I have infinite data on my bday and also get additional data on the bday of Giga! The network has never failed me. The only thing is the difficulty of getting to chat with their live agent. I had similar porting problem I the beginning as mentioned in one of the review and took hours before I could chat with their live agent. Thankfully everything was resolved in time and the porting went they successfully.

Used to love Giga but I guess it’s finally time to leave

Been with Giga for about 4 years and I always enjoyed their rainy day extra data and affordable plans. Always introduced them to my friends and family. This year however, their network speed has started to become unbearably slow so I decided it was time to port out after checking my remaining data & billing cycle. Ported my number over to a new telco, only to find out that Giga rejected it. Tried multiple times to contact Giga (live chat wasn’t responding, emails were ignored, FB messages were left on read, and FB comments were left unanswered too) but could not receive any response. I even had to contact IMDA regarding this matter as Giga has started billing me for a new cycle despite them not allowing me to port out.

Throughout my 4 years of using Giga, I’ve never thought that our relationship would have come to this. I am truly disappointed at their lack of customer service and how bad their network speed has become. Even the app experience has gone from bad to worse.

I do not recommend anyone to use Giga if they do not wish to go through this painful and annoying experience of being ghosted by a telco with no physical store presence / no hotline to call. They only have AI chatbots which can’t answer any questions.
