The Michigan WIC Mobile App will give WIC participants the opportunity to view upcoming appointments, view food benefits that have been issued to them in the clinic, scan UPCs while shopping at the store to see if the UPC is a WIC Approved item or not, and provide information on locations of WIC Stores and WIC Clinics across the State of Michigan and also Update your contact information with WIC. The goal of the Michigan WIC Mobile App is to give participants all the information they need at their fingertips to make their shopping experience fun and easy.

Poor integration

Since the integration with MiLogin I can’t access anything...no appointment reminders, check my balance, nothing. I hoped it was a bug and would be corrected in an update but now I see it was purposeful. At least I’ll have more available storage after deleting the app. There’s a silver lining!Update: I tried again. The app is somehow worse. The “integration” is the app connecting to a desktop browser inside of an app, which means you can’t see the entire screen and you still have to login twice to get your balance - if it’s even working that day. Seriously nothing was wrong with the old app, but Michigan’s data solutions are all horrendous, so I’m not shocked this still isn’t user friendly.

Hi,The below steps should allow you to access the app without any further issues related to the integration discussed in your original comment.Method 1: 1.Create a new account in MI LOGIN Citizen, even if they already had one.2.Delete the current version of WIC Connect Mobile App that they have on their phone, and re-download the app so that they have the most updated version.3.Log in to the new version of WIC Connect Mobile App using the new account information they created for MI LOGIN Citizen.We would love for you to give the WIC Connect Mobile App another chance, and to contact us directly using the "Contact WIC" icon on the app's home screen.Thank you!

Needs a lot of improvement

I downloaded this app yesterday since I was just approved for WIC and was under the impression it would be super helpful but honestly I used it for the first time today and it was very annoying. I like that I can see my balances and keep track but I still had to bring the shopping booklet with me because not everything is listed and what is listed isn’t clear at all. Then since it was my first time shopping with WIC, I used the scanner to be safe before checking out and all my fresh produce AND apple juice (which the exact brand, oz, and flavor were listed and photographed in the booklet) all scanned as “non WIC eligible.” I checked it anyway and everything was approved. Very confusing and didn’t seem helpful aside from showing my remaining balances. Needs a lot of work.

Signing in was a pain, and then trying to add my wic account and card to my account literally did not work. I made multiple attempts and it froze the app every single time and would not let me go forwards or back, and then when I’d close the app fully to unfreeze it, I’d then have to sign in again all over again to gain access to where I left off.. which was trying to add my wic card and account to my milogin account. It’s much easier to just use the EBTEdge app as suggested on the back of the card than to run around and get frustrated and upset about wic connect and its failure. App is unusable and broken.

Barcode scanner NOT functional for multi-camera lens phones

This app would get a higher rating if the barcode scanner was updated to work on ALL phones, not just single-camera lens phones. Also would’ve been nice if I didn’t have to go through trial and error to figure out why the barcode scanner wasn’t working by myself. As a new WIC user, having the barcode scanner is nice…just not available to use on my phone (I’ll have to take my husband’s phone when I go…). PLEASE update the app so that the barcode scanner can work on all phones (I’ll update my rating to reflect if that does happen!).
