I created a motorcycle policy around 2 AM and woke up 9 hours later and I went out riding for the first time since I pulled the engine out and replaced the timing chain and head gasket, the motorcycle had a bad water pump and I knew it was going out, but I didn’t realize I had completely stopped circulating my coolant, my temp gauge was reading fine. My coolant level was good and my oil level was good. But sitting at a steady 175° my bike began losing power then stalled out, I pulled the oil cap and instantly it was smoking out of it, and after I let it cool it had a noticeable rod knock, but did start. To add to this stressful situation I had paid for an entire year of insurance that morning, and the last thing I wanted to do was lose out on all that money and need to pull out the engine again on top of it. I called progressive and with a less than one minute wait time, a nice lady picked up the phone and I told her about the situation and she gave me a full refund without a single fee, I was expecting it to be difficult and to have cancellation fees, or that it wasn’t gonna be possible, but it took me less than five minutes to get on the app, get the number, and have it canceled, and that brought light to my super stressful situation. As soon as I get my bike back up and running, I will be creating another year policy with them because of this great experience. Thank you Progressive!

I feel that two step verification is a pain and is outdated. Both your email and phone number can be leaked and compromised. The app doesn't even give you the option to opt out or to change methods without calling them speaking to one person then being change to another person. Who going to steal your car insurance??? I feel like it a pain for those who have a hard time with keeping their phones in service. But in order to change the method you got to call progressive doesn't give you the option in app or on the website. If you can afford your internet. You can't access your email without having internet or WiFi. Please find a way to make it more then just email or cell phone as both method can be hacked. Offer the ability to opt out. Because it a nuisance to have to verify on the same device everytime I login to the app. Even with password and Face ID I still need to verify. I haven't upgraded the phone in about 10 yrs. Yet daily I am needing to verify my identity. Why not work out the kinks before putting the two step verification out. This is healthcare or your credit card. It car insurance. The app is great but having to two step verification every single time I open the app is a pain please do something about it. Really need to have an option for trusted devices. Makes having snapshot a pain.

The “Snapshot” application of this service is frustrating. You get flagged for phone usage while driving if you merely looked at your phone within a minute or two of driving. So, that quick text to your spouse to tell them you are on your way BEFORE you start driving gets counted against you. I live in an area where I can drive to work and not have a single stop light. I see more deer and wild turkeys than other cars. According to “Snapshot” if I happen to break a little harder to miss a turkey that just ran in front of my car, I now must be tailgating someone and get flagged on my driving record. So perhaps I should just hit the darn turkey? Now there is an email notification that I must check my “Snapshot” app to ensure the service is still on (never turned it off) or they’ll remove the service and charge more. A few weeks ago the app stopped showing me my trips so I can make appropriate adjustments of being a passenger, etc. I figured this must have been a period of active tracking and then it stops for a while. Now the app won’t even open and it seems I’ll need to go through the trouble of uninstalling it and reinstalling and setting it up again just so I can continue the frustration of an app with limited option for real-world situations. I’m not enjoying this experience. Perhaps another insurance provider is in my future.
