Find My

View the location of your Apple devices, locate items you’ve attached AirTag to, keep track of Find My network accessories, and share your location with friends and family in a single, easy-to-use app.

View the location of your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, AirPods, devices in your Family Sharing group, AirTag, or Find My network accessories on a map, and get directions to their locations in Maps.

When you can’t find your nearby device, AirTag or Find My network accessory, play a sound to pinpoint its location. Get the distance and direction to your AirTag with Precision Finding.

Keep track of personal items with AirTag and Find My network accessories and share these items with up to five other people. Everyone in the group can use Precision Finding to pinpoint the location of a shared AirTag when they’re nearby.

Put devices in Lost Mode to lock the screen and display a message, or erase them remotely to protect your data. AirTag and Find My network accessories can also be put in Lost mode to display your contact information to anyone who finds them.

If your missing device, AirTag, or compatible third-party accessory isn’t nearby, the Find My app can still help you track it down using the Find My network. It’s all anonymous and encrypted to protect everyone’s privacy.

Use the People tab to share location with friends and family so you can keep in touch, coordinate, or know when a family member has arrived home safely.

Meeting up with people in-person is now easier too. With iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro, you can use Precision Finding for directions that lead you right up to the person you’re looking for, whether at a park, a restaurant or even a music festival.

If you’re on an adventure without cell service or Wi‑Fi, you can use Find My on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro to share your location over satellite.

On Apple Watch, use the Find Devices app to view the current location of your Apple devices, Find Items to keep track of AirTag and Find My network accessories, and Find People to share your location with friends and family members.

10 year old Sat photos

3/8/24 just started using the app. First thing I noticed is it haves the wrong street name for our “Home”, and no apparent way to edit it. And no, the one it selected is not even remotely the closest. Looking at the satellite view, it shows a sat photo that is over 10 years old! I know this because our neighborhood isn’t even there. There is no explanation of the distinction between “Devices” and “Items”. There is no “Help” or other aid in using the app. It isn’t clear under what circumstances it will update location based on passing iPhones. Does it have to be in “Lost” mode? Is “Last seen” only for the owner, or per any iPhone that passes nearby? How about a track showing movement from one place to another based on updates when detected by other iPhones? So may opportunities! I just discovered that to share the device with a family member using Family Sharing, everyone has to use the SAME APPLE ID!!! Seriously? You want a 10 year old using the same Apple ID as their parents? What a preposterous idea!

I lost my Mac today outside in the intersection

This app let me know where my Mac was. It fell off the top of my car because I forgot I placed it there, I was getting my daughter in the car seat. Didn’t realize until an hour later on the way to my therapist appointment that my laptop was not in the car. I was freaking out , $2,000 laptop gone! It led me to where I took my turn down a street at a stop light, it was laying in the grass. The momentum of the car flew the laptop across the intersection. Only had a chip on the corner of the laptop. I was able to track the location down to the area perimeter. The “ring” to the device was no help in that situation -cause of the loud traffic. But the map helped me find it. I was about to just file a police report. But it was spotted near a sidewalk in the grass near the stoplight. I had a case on it at the time and it was inside a laptop sleeve. It was very hot. When I got home it was able to cool down then when I logged in…The app shut down the device and I had to go thru security question and login in from other apple devices I had tied to my account to get access into the computer. Thank you so much Apple for this! Saved my personal information and me from having to dish out more money for a new laptop. I had no insurance on it it was a pay to own device from a third party seller.

I have been using the Find My app for a long time to track my family when they are on the road. BEFORE I installed the new software update 17.4.1, it worked perfectly. Now, it barely works at all. It will show a member of my family is still at home, when they have in fact reached their destination, be it work, a friend’s house, a store, anywhere they drove to. Sometimes it will show that my family member is somewhere inside of this big blue bubble that shows up on the screen. How in the world does that help me? I now have no way of knowing whether they made it there safely and I am really upset about this. It is very stressful because I no longer have the peace of mind I had in being able to just look at my screen and see where they were. We now have to call each other to let one another know that we made it safely to our destinations. Before the recent update, this app worked like a charm, never lagging or freezing up. I wish I had just left it alone until I was forced to install the new software update because maybe then Apple might have worked out the issues with this app. I placed a call to Apple customer support, and the representative told me that because they have not yet received thousands of calls for this issue, it will probably be a while before it is looked into. If you are having the same problems with this app, as I am, please make that call and report it, so that hopefully they will get on fixing it sooner!
