Maybe it’s just me - I’m confused
Is this app only for women’s health studies? I say that because it doesn’t ask you what sex you are in the profile setup and none of the studies mention any other sex than women. While I know one doesn’t specifically exclude men it’s conducted by a women’s college leading one to believe they don’t want men’s data.
So am I just missing something or is there no reason for a man to have this app? Are there really no studies that include men that are interested in the Apple Watch/Iphone data out there that want to participate? If so why is there not at least a mention of men in this app or if this app is for just women then a app for men’s health studies? Surely there is someone out there studying at least both sexes. I can’t believe that even in today’s climate there isn’t someone wishing to study men’s health.
I apologize if my questions seem stupid but I am just a little confused by this app and it’s goals.
Needs to filter based on criteria
All in all, I’m very happy to participate in these studies. For all the people complaining about “lack of compensation” I would say that sometime we should just do things because they help others, not because we personally get compensation for it.
Knocking off one star because it needs to filter the studies based on eligibility criteria. As a guy, I cannot possible participate in a cycle tracking studies, so it should either not be show at all or have an option to dismiss from your available studies due to ineligibility.
No Incentives- No Deal
Apple is a multi-billion dollar corporation and they want us to give them our data for free. I’m all for the advancement of research and I think this is an excellent idea. However, some sort of incentive should be given. I run focus groups for research and people get a gift card out of the deal for just talking with me. This is a multi-year commitment that they want you to make and are offering nothing to you in return. I will not be participating in any of this until they give us something in return because they have more than enough money to afford it.
