I am legally blind with no vision in my right eye. This tool enables me to do things like following instructions for building models with LEGO. Turning on the light significantly helps bring out the colors. Only trouble is, after a while, my phone heats up enough to start reducing my display’s brightness to as low as 50%. I have an XS Max. Its OLED display could hardly produce a better picture, if only it would remain as bright as I want it, even while using a demanding application, such as this one.

I’ve been legally blind all my life (blue cone achromatopsia) and the last few years I’ve had fairly large progressive vision loss. Thankfully I’ve had this app all those years on iPad and iPhone and it helps significantly. The filters let me change things so that I can see many things I’d miss. The negative reviews don’t seem to understand what the picture function is for - it’s so that you zoom into the picture even further. I love this feature as I have very little vision; I generally take the pic on my iPad after zoom far as can go then zoom in further. If they saved to the camera I’d have no storage because it would be filled with pics I needed 1 time to see something.

I am legally blind and use the magnifier feature almost daily. I use it to read the check at a restaurant, food label nutrition info, any small print. It also works as a binocular. If I can’t figure out what is going on across the street or what car is parked in front of my house, I simply use the zoom feature to get a closer view. I love the ability to just click the home button three times to access the magnifier and don’t have to find it on my phone’s screen. Thank you Apple for a very handy app for those of us with poor vision. I’ve even shown friends who ordinarily need to get out their reading glasses to read menus or restaurant bills how to use this app and they are impressed!

As a legally blind iOS user, I have used this magnifier app for several years, and it's worked beautifully. Unfortunately on the iPhone 16+ phone I now have, the last couple versions of iOS, the magnifier app has a couple of major bugs Apple needs to fix immediately. When using the auto camera option, the image blurs and focus jumps when nearing the edge of a document. When using the close-up mode, magnifier doesn't use the correct lens anymore, and viewing a piece of paper close-up washes out the image so bad, that no text is even visible. As someone who relies on this app daily, this app needs to be fixed as soon as possible! Then I would rate at five stars.
