The new Sentara mobile app allows you to easily manage your healthcare anytime, anywhere. Use your Sentara app to:
* Securely access your medical records
* Review test results, request a prescription refill, or send a message to your provider
* Easily schedule an appointment with one of your providers
* Get virtual care for minor health issues via phone, video or email 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
* Quickly find a provider based on your location and health needs
* Connect your Sentara account to Apple Health to pull health-related data from your device into the Sentara app
This is the official app for Sentara Healthcare, a not-for-profit health system with more than 100 sites of care across Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina.
NOTE: If you have a Sentara MyChart account, please use the same username and password to log in to the app. If you do not have a Sentara MyChart account, download the app and click on “Sign Up”.
This release includes a crash fix within the virtual care appointment workflow.
Ratings and Reviews
The Sentara app is so incredibly convenient. It allows me to see everything I need for scheduling appointments, contacting my doctor, or checking my chart. I used to have to have to go to Sentara, Optima Health, and MyChart all through their respective apps or websites but the Sentara app aggregates everything in one place. It’s also very helpful if you’re managing someone else’s care, you can hop on their app to message their provider or schedule an appointment. I haven’t had any crash or technical issues — no complaints and highly recommend.
This App is strictly for your Dr
Recently I had a pretty major back surgery, and was encouraged multiple times to download the app. “You can schedule your appointments, see your own test results, track your health, contact your Dr or staff, refill prescriptions, etc. That all sounds great, but I’ve tried to contact my dr multiple times through the emails on the app, tried to refill my prescription 3 + times, nor could I get my test results. I never received one response to the multiple requests for prescription renewal, never got a response to my increased pain and decreased mobility complaints, nor could I get anyone to contact me about getting copies of my test results so I could turn them over for my short term disability claim.
To sum it up, this app is strictly for your Dr to contact you, track your health, and better review your past appointments and labs. All in all it seems like a great app for your Dr to better track and contact you, but it doesn’t go both ways....
Update: One FULL WEEK later I finally received a response to ONE email...so they do receive the emails on the other end and I guess just choose to ignore them? I don’t know who to blame. This app is for THEM, not YOU, and Sentara’s post op care in general is just lack and lazy.

I’ve been trying to clear out my unread messages in this application. It has crashed six times in the last 20 minutes. Sometimes it logs me right back in and other times it makes me put my password in. I tried to sort my unread messages and it worked at first. No when I sort that way it tells me I have no unread messages even though there are 68 unread messages.I spent almost half an hour just trying to clear out my unread messages and it’s slow and difficult.
I received two messages asking me to fill out the attached questionnaire but there’s no questionnaire attached and I don’t know how to find it. Didn’t receive all these messages telling me about the appointment change all the messages say is check your appointments. What a waste of a message. I had to change my rating to one star because it crashes every two minutes. Also, when I sort by unread messages it shows me a list. But after I read the first message it then says I don’t have any unread messages.
