A real shock when dealing with Mashreq from abroad
Honestly speaking I am really shocked with recent experience with Mashreq bank . For certain reasons(no need to mention ) lam on a leave in a different country . I did all I can to pay my credit card minimum payments I couldn’t . I tried through the snapshot . It didn’t work the answer you don’t have a current account. Well I have one and I have a balance which I keep as reserve . I called the customer service centre . I gave them all the data & verification needed. The answer “we can not do any thing because your current account has been frozen ) why ? No answer . Same time the bank is taking charges for late payment from me which is not fair . I sent a letter with the slip to pay the minimum sum due through DHL to the card center in Dubai ( P.O. box1250) . The card center refused to receive the DHl message . It came back and it was very costly. So what kind of a Bank is this I want to pay my debits from my money which is in the bank itself the bank refuses instead they bank is charging me for late payment . Well this really unfair & unjust ‘

Freeze Customer's Accounts-They Make Possible!
This bank is notorious for freezing customer's accounts without notice, excuse or reason. Customers are denied access to their own money for days while you they try to find someone to reason with. At the end, Mashreq's favorite excuse is KYC and some phantom Compliance Department that doesn't have an office, a number, or employees. Truth is this bank has invested in some automated software that analyzes customers transactions and freezes accounts automatically even when there is zero risk! If you're traveling overseas better make sure you have other accounts at other banks and other credit cards to fall back on. They have left thousands stranded abroad. They act with arrogance and impunity.

I have been using Emirates NBD and standard chartered app for years and recently started using this mashreq bank app. So far my experience with this app has been very disappointing. Its DOESNT work half the time. Standard chartered app is not the prettiest thing but it gets the job done every single time. Enbd app is so far THE BEST banking app. Works like a charm and has clean and clear UX. This app is just a headache. The tried to make it pretty and over did it and in my personal opinion it looks like a kid’s toy app. but more importantly they forgot to make it functional! 50 to 60 percent of the time when i try to login it says, sorry please try again later sometime. Thats NOT how a bank app should respond.
