I love this app, especially now that it’s free for individual use. I have been using the app for years, I wanna say the same year it came out, same with using the Square readers, and I must say it helps me out with my business SOOOOO much. When my customers started to ask about using their cards I looked into a machine that was portable and I found the Square machine you attach to your phone. And when I found out about the scheduling app too with the same company I was ALL IN! My customers absolutely love it, they love getting their reminders and that they get a confirmation on their appointments too. The only thing i would love for the company to change is the recurring appointment part and add a bi-weekly & a bi-monthly and not just daily / weekly / monthly/ yearly. Plus add a background color change button for customer when booking appointment so the color behind names can help distinguish the weeks length of time between last appointment and next. Example: when booking appointments the background color behind the name is blue and the name is white. But all the customers you book are the same color, Blue. (Which is one of my favorite colors) but I would like the customers who come in after 3 weeks to be a different color to remind me that they have been out longer than 3 weeks so it can remind me to charge more or if they need a certain service. That would help greatly!

I operate a very small business that is just me helping clients with different technology needs. I looked at Square Appointments before, but the monthly fee was too big for me to justify it for the size of and amount of business I was doing. When I found out that Square was offering appointments for free for individuals, I jumped on the opportunity. Changed my invoicing from something else to Square and have been using the appointments.I absolutely love how I can sync my Google Calendar with appointments and can set my hours. This makes it so easy for clients to pick a time to schedule with me. I also really like how Square sends my clients reminders and allows me to easily send the receipts after they pay for services. This makes my job so much easier. Additionally, when I provide remote support, having the ability for them to pay an invoice directly through Square is really great. Yes, there are some processing fees with that, but they are well worth it considering how much easier it makes things for me!Also, I am really happy that square allows me to select multiple payment methods including options that are not credit. I can easily select cash or check if that is how my clients want to pay. Keep up the good work, Square! This app has made operating my business so much easier and it makes my operations look even more professional!

Been using Square and Appointments for a very long time now. I’m a tattoo artist so for just managing one single person is my experience. They’ve never charged me for using their appointments app. I can add different services with set prices or make custom prices. I used to use a small device to swipe cards, but it’s been tap only for a few years and I’ve never had an issue with it. They do charge a fee to run cards but if that lost income really matters to you and you get emotional about it, just charge your customer an extra 2-5 bucks and be done with it. Since they have they been able to change with todays lightning pace, my clients actually have positive reactions to using it on their end as well. They can send me a message, and if you let them in your settings, they can even book and modify their appointments themselves, saving you more time for creating mode. It’s always been easy to use and free. Clients receive text and email alerts, and can choose to opt out of course as well. Because I use this app daily, I don’t mind paying them a few bucks when I take a card. And, after you’ve established a certain assumed revenue, they offer loans you can take out if you’re in a pinch (it’s helped me with rent on slower months) that you just pay back with each transaction you make. This is the only company that I personally have experience with over 10 years of daily use that I know is for the small business. Their rates for payback on loans are completely fair and I don’t feel punished for taking them out. I know I may sound like a bot because literally 60% of the internet are bots these days (remember that when you’re screaming at a stranger on the internet…) but I promise I am 99% human. The other 1% is still up for debate. ;)

I’ve tried multiple apps over the years to see if I like any better than Square appointments but keep coming back. I really appreciate the ability to customize services and duration as well as a default time for services. The choice of which type of notification to send per client is ideal, whether text, email, both or none. The automatic reminders are crucial (a must!) that has always been delivered to my clients. However, I would really like to see a specific time available to send out reminders (i.e. 6PM 2 days prior vs 48 hrs in advance) as I have had client requests to not have the reminders come at 6AM even though they’re appointment may be scheduled for 6AM in two days time. Before this latest update, being able to customize services with a different color and see what the day held at a glance was amazingly ideal. Unfortunately, after the most recent update my services were returned to Squares default color (blue). All of the appointments that were already set in my calendar were now blue instead of service a-pink, service b-green, and service c-yellow. I tried multiple ways to bring back the service specific color but the update did not allow for this. Hopefully this feature will be reinstated as it was what really set this up for ease of coordinating services appropriately. The removal of this and the inability to set time specific reminders are the only reason I don’t give a 5 star review. Overall it is an INCREDIBLY useful app, especially for me as a small business. But hopefully (PLEASE!!!) the ability to custom color services will be reinstated and a time specific reminder will be next on the update list.
This update includes minor bug fixes and performance improvements.
