Get mobile access to your Brilliant Control(s) by downloading and pairing the Brilliant App.
The Brilliant Control replaces an existing light switch to give you touch and voice control over all of your smart home products. From lights, music, climate, security, and doorbells to whatever comes next, Brilliant connects everyone in the home with controls that are easy to access and use.
With Alexa built in for voice control, a personalizable high resolution display for touch control, and a camera with a privacy shutter for room-to-room video chat, your home is now more than just smart. It’s Brilliant.
The Brilliant App gives you remote/mobile access to your Brilliant Control(s), so you can see and adjust the status of your connected smart home products, turn on/off lights, activate scenes, upload personal photos, and more.
Don’t have a Brilliant Control yet? You can download the app and use our “demo mode” to simulate the mobile experience.

I originally pulled this down to configure the Brilliant light switch I purchased. What I am realizing is this could be a much bigger aspect of the Brilliant line. They have a really clean way of integrating many products in a way that say a Control 4 system does. So yes the light switches are great but the app along with it makes for a really nice single solution to manage your smart home. Looking forward to seeing the ability to copy scenes so it’s easy to make variations without re-programming everything. Also would like to see the ability to configure devices from the app like you can do on the switches.

Cool but not great…yet

Installed a master and 2 remote switches. The master is cool with its features but also complicated to configure. Need to move more configuration options to the app. Biggest complaint is the latency in the remote switches on motion detection. It’s a serious 3-4 seconds that turns on once I’m 6 feet into a dark room. Need to fix so it’s more instantaneous. The remote switch is about 15 feet from master and even if I waive my hand in front of switch when I enter the room it has this delay. I’m not allowed to buy anymore by the lil woman until this is fixed. Also would be nice to set my own timer of how long before lights auto shut off options are 1 or 5 minutes, why not let user customize? Lastly, needs more software flexibility to create if/then scenes. For example turn lights on off at a time or event. Definitely cool, if Brilliant and iDevice combined, this would be the best switch period. In the meantime needs more work and faster releases to get me to buy another.
App is garbage (updated)

Spent an hour getting the device installed. Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful. However I have downloaded the app and every time I try to create an account, it says there was an error and to try again later. Tried 10-20 times over the course of an hour with different emails and names, and it never works. $500 device and I can't use it because of a poorly coded app. I'll be returning it tomorrow seeing as you can't use any of the features without an account and I can't create an account.Update:After giving up for the night, I decided to try the next day. Maybe it was a server issue, but I was able to set it up in the morning. The app is still not amazing, but the device more than makes up for it. Upgrading to 4 stars.
Great concept - fails to execute

I bought this thinking this would be an end all solution to hardwire connect many smart devices without a phone. Well, it works… sometimes. Sometimes I need to reboot the panel, aka remove from the wall and reinstall, wait a couple minutes, and then see if Brilliant can then detect devices whereas on my phone I can see them. This seems to happen frequently with Lifx and Magic LED strips. It’s really unfortunate because for a $500 device you would think it would be able to reasonably refresh as to whether a device is online or not. When things don’t work like activating a scene to turn all lights off on the house yet to it not do that and then cause you to pull out your phone to do it is lowkey annoying.
Brilliant now works with BluOS-enabled speakers and players. Play, pause, adjust volume, and switch between rooms — right alongside your lights, thermostat, and other smart home controls. Set up scenes that pair audio with lighting so everything works together the way you want it.
