This latest update is stopping me from canceling and re-starting a new drying cycle which is the whole point of the app, so I don’t have to go to the machine. The app initially was this way and then 2 or 3 updates ago it started allowing that and “poof”now it is gone again. I see other similar reviews so I think this is the general consensus about how the dryer should be able to be accessed. I wish I could roll back to the earlier version, it was better. I tried to reach out to Maytag directly and the page pulled up as Error 404 and it makes me wonder if everyone is trying to lodge a complaint so they took the page down. Please fix it, my dryer is 2 floors away from the living space and going up and down just to get the wrinkles out and then coming back 10 mins later was one of the main driving forces to buying this model.

Worked great when I first set it up. I only do laundry 2 days every week and wanted notifications so I wouldn’t have to sit close by to hear the end of cycle signals. Next use, got “offline”. I followed the instructions in the app and could not “reconnect.” Every time I got the number to press “pair” on my cell and then pressed “start” on the machine it went right back to the “ready to pair” screen. Over and over and over again. I even started getting “wrong wi-fi password”, and I know for certain my password was correct. I deleted the app on my phone and reinstalled it. I had to unplug both appliances and start all over again like the very first time I’d set it up. Then after a “few times of trying” I got both appliances back on the app. Of course all the “favorites” were also gone. In other words, I had to do “everything” all over again. Seems like the only way to keep them from “falling” off the cloud is to be certain to “enable” them again within every 24 hour period of non use . Refresh doesn’t ever work either. In the hour I spent trying to “reconnect” I could have had a load done. But, I’m like a dog with a bone and would not quit. Today, when I saw the “offline” again, I decided to never ever try to use your app again. And believe me that takes a huge amount of frustration on my part to give up on anything. From other reviews I’ve read here, I hope sometime in the future your app works better. It’s truly a fantastic concept.

I have numerous appliance and IOT device apps. This is one of the worst I've ever encountered. Demands your phone number and your address for no reason. It's a clothes washer. I want to know when the clothes are done. There's no reason you need my phone number or my name or my address Except to load it into your marketing database. Same thing for precise location. The claim that precise location is needed to "connect to my Wi-Fi" even though you're getting the Wi-Fi SS ID and password directly from me during the process is ludicrous and insulting. Bluetooth pairing is also ridiculous. There's a 15 second countdown window for you to pair to the device, OK, but you have to hold the button down the whole time. Completely stupid. It should pair like any normal Bluetooth device where it can be put in pairing mode hands off and it will wait for 15 or 20 or 25 seconds while you have time to get the process going instead of having to have one hand actively HOLDING DOWN that button and the other hand poking menus on your phone. While I successfully set this up with fake phone number and address, this app is so terrible my wife is never gonna use it, she's never gonna give you phone numbers and addresses and precise locations for no reason, just for a clothes washer. The only reason this is two stars instead of one is because the app does seem to work if you go through the terrible process.

This app is totally pointless. You have to turn the power on to be able to activate a cycle then you still have to press start on the machine. What’s the point? I can do all that from right there in front of the machine. You should be able to start it from the phone, not being able to is just dumb.I would like to add since the developer responded. My washer and dryer are both enabled. They are both linked to my wifi and this waste of time app. The washer and dryer both have to be powered on to do anything on the app then when you select a cycle you still have to push start on the appliance. It is so stupid and pointless. I can select a cycle while standing there at the machine. What the app does is send a message when they are finished with their cycle or when the clothes need rearranged in the dryer. It will also show what the error codes mean(like when opening the lid on the washer) You can create your own customized cycle but you can also do that from the controls on the machine. The app doesn’t do anything useful. I would give this app zero stars if I could now even more so since their response was basically your appliance may not be enabled. If I have to reset the stupid thing every single load or every time the lid opens what is the point. What is the point of the wifi enabled option on the appliances. Total gimmick and a waste
