Ace app - minor recommendations
Great app, I’ve never had any issues with it whatsoever. Very easy to navigate and manage on the go. I’m renown for transferring money to my spending account on the spot, at the cash register while the machine is already waiting for my payment and it’s been perfect every time. The only suggestions I could make would be to have a notification function for when you have been paid by someone. Can be a bit painful on payday having to go in and manually open/reload the app over and over again to check. A little push notification would be very helpful. Further, the login pop-up when re-opening the app can be painful if you didn’t correctly log out the last time you used it (we logged you out while you were away). I think it’s a bit of a given that if you leave the app it would log out. It can waste that extra second when trying to access your money quickly - would be easier without the pop-up. Little things I know but I feel it would make my experience a lot better. Overall, love your work ING!!!
Solid but room for improvement.
First of all, I love ING. There savings rate and free overseas ATM withdrawals have been amazing. In terms of the APP. It’s a pretty solid start. Face ID log in. Good widget, user friendly. A few recommendations. In the age of FINTECH, I think there could be some improvements. Grouping spending into categories would be nice. Bill splitting like MONZO would also be nice. They have a function where you can pay someone purely based on proximity would be nice. Left to spend would also be nice.
Also with the ability to open numerous accounts it would be nice to somehow quickly see the total amount of money you have across various accounts. This could be a complete total or the ability to select several accounts and see a total monetary figure would be nice.
Overall good app but a look at what some fintech companies are doing could make it perfect
Please use a standard numeric keyboard
The fact the backspace on the numeric keyboard is on the left side instead of on the right is incredibly annoying. I’m used to reaching for the bottom right when I need to fix typos since that’s where every other app and iOS itself has it. I understand the next button is supposed to “save time” but when I accidentally type the wrong amount and need to fix it, I reach for the bottom right and tap where the backspace is supposed to be as a reflex. I’m then taken to the next input, have to manually tap back to the original input and then find the backspace - that’s not saving time. For most transfers I don’t need to write a description so it’s not a big deal taping the input when I need to.
QWERTY is not the most optimal keyboard but it’s not going to change because everyone knows it. Keep things simple so users can have a pleasant experience using the app, please. I’m sure a lot of users are getting annoyed by this but I don’t know how many would actually write a review to complain about it so I have no idea if it’s on the developers radar. However if it’s frustrating for the user, functionality doesn’t matter, it’s not the right UX decision.
