@Wills ,

Good app with an excellent feature but 1 incredibly annoying bug

I have found this app the be quite good as far as email apps go. I particularly like the ability to block sender/domain so easily - a critical feature these days that most other email apps omit. It does have 1 annoying bug though: I cannot log out. I select the exit icon, click OK in the warning popup and then ... nothing! The app remains open with me still logged in. Gosh Mandy, why didn't I think of that!! I'm not sure what developers/support think of users these days? Every users now knows 1). Re-boot phone 2). If that doesn't work, ensure up-to-date version 3). If that doesn't work, re-install app 4). If that doesn't work, contact company for help. So, yes, I had already re-inatalled the app BEFORE contacting you. However, following your really useful reply [NOT] I re-inatalled the app and re-booted my iPhone. And guess what? Still cannot log out. The issue is with YOUR app!!

So, I've now changed my phone to a brand new one, reinstalled this App from scratch, and the problem remains: log out of the App DOES NOT WORK! There is clearly a BUG in this App. Other than that, the App functions reasonably well.

Hi @Wills,

Thanks for getting back to us. I've just tested the sign out facility on my iPhone and it worked without a problem so we'll need to look into that further for you. Please can you get in touch with us at emailsupport@bt.com and we'll be happy to help?

Thanks
Neil

Endlessly Disappointed ,

Unusable

This is my first ever review for anything, but I am continually be asked if I am enjoying the app. I have had a bt mail account for a number of years but am now looking for something more reliable, mainly due to this app. Some days it works fine but mostly not. Quite often I can only read the top of an email as it will not allow me to scroll down. The list of emails on the left is regularly out of order - new emails are randomly interspaced with old ones, sometimes dated weeks earlier. This quite often means trying to scroll down the list to find new emails which I know I have just received but are buried somewhere below. I have a number of different apple devices and they all behave the same way. These are old issues, years old, which countless others have complained about but which the developers have not taken the time to address. Those in authority at bt obviously either don’t read these reviews or just don’t care, otherwise they would have been sorted years ago. I am forced to use the app as bt mail no longer works in the apple mail app. You did ask.

Update in response to developer Neill

Conversation view is not on in any of my devices and, even if it were, it would not explain the inability to scroll through the entirety of an email. Reading through other similar reviews conversation view seems to be the go to response from the developer for this issue. It should be clear by now that this is not the cause.

Developer Response ,

Hi, I'm sorry you're disappointed with the BT email app. Do you have the conversation view switched on in the settings? This feature groups together emails from the same sender and may explain why the emails received are not in chronological order.
Thanks
Neil

Jakhaben ,

Beggars belief

Unfortunately the lowest star rating available to mark this app is one star. One star suggests it might be mildly competent but that would be a gross exaggeration in this case, a minus 5 stars rating would be more than generous. I like thousands of other people have had this app forced on me as I cannot use apple mail anymore as I have a BT email address. I never really had even considered whether apple mail was good, bad or indifferent as it was there, it always did the job so I used it without a thought. The BT app invariably cannot be moved up once it has displayed the content of the email on the iPad, I can only read the top of the email, no matter what I do the page will not move up so the email can’t be read. So I have to forward it to a new gmail email address I’ve had to create so that I can read it in apple mail, and that’s the only way I can access the full content of emails at present. The BT app has been updated a few times since I’ve had to use it but what I’ve just described is still as bad as ever. This is just one of the many basic things wrong with the BT app which loads of other frustrated users have listed in their reviews. BT should have waited until their app was at least useable before forcing it on apple users. And how can this app have been rated at 4.4 out of 5 stars when EVERY yes EVERY review says it’s not fit for purpose. Just asking !!!!

Developer Response ,
