Was guide by the App to convert GBP to Euros. Was abroad on Easter Sunday and used the fast pay option. There was no notification from the App that anything had happened. I tried twice more with. O Euros. When at the apartment I had 3 emails stating I owed a total of £1309 to cover the Euros I had purchased required by the end of the day. I did this and the following day I had no Euros but £1309. I eventually converted this to the €1500 I had purchased but still had alerts stating I owed this money. I converted it back at a cost of £58. There was no help until the Tuesday. Chatted with an advisor who stated he would cancel the alerts and everything would be OK and I could buy my Euros using my card. Hurrah. On the Tuesday FairFx converted my £s to €s so I had far too long many €s and will now have to convert them back to £s at an extortionate cost. The App is slow, confusing and the help is poor with recompense for my losses. I would advise anyone to stay away from this unless you have money to burn.

The old app was great and I never had any issues with it. Since updating my card and moving to the new app it has been problems all the time. My main issue has been trying to fund the card. In the past I could do it with my bank card but at first the app wouldn’t accept this, it said I needed to take action but didn’t explain what. The most recent attempt to fund it saw the money leave my bank account and then the money show as pending but not available to me. I have tried to contact FairFX to resolve but almost impossible to get past the AI chat and when you email there never appears to be any response.In the app the layout isn’t very user friendly and trying to stop at the currency balance you want is difficult and I am finding it poor compared to the old app. New isn’t always better.

The previous FairFX app was flawless, easy to use and transactions were quick with a great audit trail of related information. But since the change to a new card (at their insistence) and a new app - wow, what a backwards step.Top-up payments now take so long to show it makes this card almost impossible to rely on whilst in a foreign country and the functionality of the app itself is clunky, hard to use, with small text and difficult to search for transaction information. I have tried to engage with the Live Chat function and gave up after watching the typical ‘buffering’ wheel endless with no information being provided. This may be the result of their new banking arrangements, but this app is a real dog’s dinners and I would advise you to find an alternative provider. Sadly it’s too late for me - save yourselves 🙏.

I’ve been using FairFX both personally and in business for many years now and prior to the relaunch of the app found it very easy and convenient. Back then I was recommending FairFX to friends, family and colleagues. Since the relaunch of the app it is as far from easy to use as you can get. The unresponsiveness/time it takes for screens to accept inputs and update is so slow you are never sure what is going on. A lot of the time the app does not respond to your inputs at all. Seriously, you would think you were back in the days of dial up internet connections, and a very bad one at that. Honestly, if ever an app developer wants a lesson on how to take a perfectly good app and ruin it, contact the developers of this app. I feel I can no longer recommend FairFX. In fact, I would advise people to avoid then at all costs
