Ratings and Reviews
Okay but could be better
Could do with a dark mode because I mostly open the app at night and burn my eyes out because of the white background. I started using my watch instead because at least the background was black and wasn’t too bright at night but for some reason the update killed my shortcut that opened the app and a lot of the time it logs me out anyway and says I need to login on my phone again which defeats the whole point of using the watch. Other than those things and the occasional bug where I’m logged out completely it’s alright and comes in handy especially when you are in bed and need to set your alarm or if you have already left the house but forgot to set it it’s pretty handy. I just wish they would honour the dark mode settings and get rid of the permanent white background and maybe make the watch app something that can launch from a watch face complication.
Good app, but missing an important feature for me
I think this app is clear and easy to use. I’ve found that it works well and have been using it for just over a year. I have however found two problems. The first is that despite following the battery replacement steps for my siren which is supposed to disable the tamper alarm, the siren still sounds in my face when I remove the cover (This was on version 3.1.1, I haven’t tried with 3.2 yet).
The second problem which is the biggest for me, is more specific to how I would like to use the alarm system. I have two large dogs which stay downstairs if I go out and come upstairs with me in the night. As a result, the limited settings available for the motion sensors means that part of my house remains permanently unarmed (I may as well remove the sensor). I would like for this sensor to be armed in part arm/home mode, and unarmed in full arm/away mode. I know that this defeats the object of a “full arm” but with other alarm systems you can create multiple zones/modes to accommodate for this. Where as this app effectively only gives you two, part and full. I would like the to either have the option to omit a sensor in full arm mode, or alternatively introduce a third mode e.g. full arm, part arm and custom arm.

Missing one critical security feature
I have been using Yale alarms for many years and recently upgraded to smart 6 months ago. The system is working as it should except when the siren falsely alarms in high winds even when i have turned off tamper alert. Generally speaking quite happy.
However, i have contacted support many times regarding the omission of having a panic button function within the app and they assured me it was highly requested and in the pipeline for dev. Its a massive security measure to be able to set the siren on if you are at home and hear an intruder. My keypad is downstairs so being able to use my phone beside my bed at night to scare intruders is a must. Also i have the Yale CCTV cam in back garden so if i am away from home and can see someone suspicious I can set the alarm off and scare them away. I had this feature on my previous old model the telecommunication kit. I expect smart models to have this as standard too. Please can this be added, thanks
