Not had the problems most have had. App downloaded fine (iPhone 6s) and engineer called back after missing my call, to get me set up on the replacement system which was provided for free (as the old system was obsoleted). Occasionally sticks in loading screen but close and re-open app works fine.
Disappointed with the U.I. Was never fond of the old one, but this one is worse in terms of intuitive interaction.. actually had to read the help menu to figure out how to arm the alarm!! What’s wrong with an “arm” “dissarm” button????
1. When arming using the new app, it goes through the countdown routine.. I liked the old system that armed instantly from the app, but counted down when using the keypad.. I don’t want to wake my kids when going to bed!
2. Biggest annoyance is that a door sensor and the external siren have gone low battery since installing new app. I’ve replaced the batteries (by using the “change battery” function) and when reset both are still considered low battery. Which REALLY annoyingly makes the hub beep every 5seconds... only way to get around this is by bypassing them!!!!

Not as bad as other reviews

Have had the system for a week now and have experienced none of the problems others have. Don’t know if that might be down to setup; we paid for an approved Yale installer to install ours rather than do it ourselves and he did a great job - for £220 I’d rather hope so!!!

Most of the app is well laid out and the in app help tips are useful tho you are sometimes still left scratching your head as to why the app does something and the app doesn’t tell you why. For instance, couldn’t figure out why I kept getting a “home location entered” notification soon after setting the alarm. I’ve figured out for myself that this might be the geolocation but the app tells you nothing.

I’ve knocked one star off my rating as I think it’s a little poor I can’t connect to the system when my phone is connected to another Wi-fi network - e.g. at work. Means I have to turn Wi-fi off, connect via 4G then reconnect to Wi-fi. I imagine this is a security thing but there must be a better way around it.

Come on Yale...

Have had a Smart Home system for 2 years now and while that actual functionality of the alarm system itself is fine, this app remains mine and many other peoples bug-bear. The old version was great. Worked quickly and was stable. Gave you all the functionality you realistically needed. The old app was unfortunately retired earlier this year. The new one, while being easy to navigate is just plain unstable. It’s slow, often hangs, is constantly looking for firmware and has long periods of time where we’re unable to log in via the app. The much requested panic feature still hasn’t materialised and every ‘up date’ seems to slow it down even more. So now I find myself about to shell out even more money to give us a pair of key fobs as back up for the app not working. Software is king when it comes to this type of tech, and I find myself not being able to recommend your product because your software is just plain unreliable.
