The new app has no relevant features on site. What does one first use their banking app for? To check their account history and everything. It is rather difficult to do that now.This looks less of a banking app and more of a UPI app.Old app was fantastic. It was easy to use, highly functional, and extremely quick. This is a UPI app extended to act like a banking app. Have UPI function, but don’t make it the primary function of the app.I was with Kotak because of how easy their banking services are. Now… I am doubtful.If the team behind the app is reading this - First rule of engineering, DONT FIX WHAT ISNT BROKEN.

Why mess around with a good thing

An update for the sake of an update always ends in disaster. There was nothing wrong with the old one. The only thing maybe that needed changing was a resolution or look or UX refresh. Changing the complete UI and adding features to it ( mostly pushing upi, investment products, fancy names like wallet for card controls) has made it the exact opposite of the old / current app, which is..it’s pathetic. Doesn’t feel like a banking app. Cluttered with random information, icons without precise text, icons which have no specific functions. Hiding all the important functions which were previously easy to get too. Additional steps for simple tasks. The fundamentals of what a banking app should be have been ruined here. Half baked features. Such as can’t delete oldBeneficiaries. Etc etc, the list is long. And to top it off, extremelyBuggy and erroneous. Example: it gives me access to an account which I previously a joint holder in, I’m no more associated with that account, only a nominee. I can still see its bank balance and have access to transfer features of that account, this is a serious security lapse. Genuine request: use the previous / old app as a backbone and improve on that, add features to that. Update (read: polish) the features of that. And stop working on the garbage you have just put out. There was a time I used to hold the kotak app in #1 position wrt to net banking apps. Probably the worst now. This is coming from a 15 year customer of the bank. Ps: the same applies to your kotak neo app. Probably the worst execution of an investment app that I have seen. I hope you don’t end support for the old banking app. As this new one is a new low, even for your bank.

App looks good but seems to be confusing

The overall look and feel is no doubt far better than the previous one. Although I feel some of the features have been hidden and are not quite intuitive when it comes to navigating the app. It would be good to keep it more simple just like the previous one as it was easier. Eg. the account activity section shows transactions which are all in same color with small +/- icon in front of them but that really doesn’t help when I am looking for a Quick Look at my credit/debit transactions. The earlier app had colors associated with the values which made it more intuitive and easy to understand. This is just one of the things I am mentioning. It would be good to keep the app simpler in terms of navigating and styling.

I still like the old app for its concise buttons, all things easy and at a glance available. I accept the new app is more consistent and fast, but still lacks basic things. If i Lock Screen and re open kotak, to my surprise it did not ask me face id or login. It’s bank app. Why would you still let user to continue without face id ?Just by bigger icons and a lot of stuff added on regular basis would make it worse. Also what’s the fate of old app? I’m planning to switch back to it. I liked Kotak app interface the best in old. Even better than ICICI at times. (HDFC was never in the race and always last)Back gesture is not available on inside pages (inconsistent) Would it be possible to make it consistent irrespective of current browsing position?
