Best internet I’ve ever had

Living out in a rural area I’m only able to get broadband internet. It’s been a nightmare. The service only provides my household with 4.7 download speed and .067 upload speed - having WiFi that would come and go and I wanted a smart home it was extremely Frustrating. In 2017 I came across the Amplifi mesh network. I Love the Amplifi mesh network I placed the router box in my master room placed one of the extension plug ins 204 feet away to the second home on my land and it’s allowing me to have no hassle internet WiFi in both the houses I placed another plug in and it is reaching my driveway gate and cam that is 1609 feet from the box in my master bedroom. It almost covers 4acres of land with the 3 piece box set. I’m now getting ready to travel and I see I can purchase a New Teleport that I can plug in anywhere in the world and be able to access my home network. When I get the teleport and use it I will definitely leave a review. I love the AmpliFi Mesh Network its a no brainer and hassle free network.

Excellent router, better than Eero

I have always used the expensive home WiFi routers. I switched to Eero for mesh and loved it, but the quality started to be an issue. After much desperation (over a year of them blaming Apple for frequent disconnects), I decided to give AmpliFi a try. Back when I purchased my last mesh router I knew of Ubiquity, and hoped they had something, but they did not. Now I am using their AmpliFi mesh and I love it. It wanting to dump another $500 on hardware, I purchased the AmpliFi instant and to my surprise, I achieve 220+ Mbps on my 200Mbps network, everywhere in my home. The idea was that after I was able to prove that my WiFi connectivity issues for all my Apple devices was resolved, I would upgrade to the HD Gamer model, but there is no need now. Not only is my WiFi reliable and solid, wish a wired backhaul my mesh network is blazing fast.As such I have penciled in the AmpliFi Alien as my next router. Great work!

I went from orbi to these after using some ubiquiti equipment at work. I had constant issues with orbi when updating the firmware, the main one being it losing connection to the satellite and causing me to have to factory reset them to reconnect to the main. AmpliFi solved this issue. The setup and management are a breeze and connecting and management of the different devices (I have 3 total in a mesh) are easy and consistent. I occasionally have some slow connection issues with devices but a router reboot solves these instantly. I can’t knock it for that as every non-enterprise piece of equipment I’ve ever worked with requires this regularly (and enterprise equipment requires it as well just not as often). Fantastic system and I think the best for home use you can find. Well worth it.

Software great - Alien mesh setup not great

Have had my Alien router and mesh node kit for a couple years, then bought another router about a year later to use as second mesh node. Difficult to connect mesh nodes initially, but once working, it was great. Two years later, both mesh nodes went offline. I can get them connected while a couple of feet away from the router, but as soon as I take them 20 ft away, they will not reconnect. I reset everything to start over, and unplugged my ONT modem, but same thing. My guess, according to Reddit threads is that others are having the mesh fail after a couple of years - I’m sure my other router used as a mesh node will work fine as a stand-alone router, but I’ll bet the mesh range is failing. My symptoms are the same as others who have confirmed with the manufacturer, Ubiquity. Expensive set to be failing in 2-3 years. Odd thing is that I used to have their HD system, and it was easy and ran flawlessly for 6 or so years - I just wanted to take advantage of the faster data speeds coming in.
