This app does a great job of providing a single point of access to an individual's medical records, appointments, prescriptions, medical bills, and much more. The app is for patients of either Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin (such as myself) or Advocate Health Care in Illinois.As someone managing a chronic illness, the MyAdvocateAurora app makes it easy to navigate my multiple upcoming appointments and scheduled tests, keep track of my prescriptions (and request refills), and communicate privately and securely with each of my doctors. And whenever there is new info for me (like a new test result or message from one of my doctors), the app notifies me to take a look. It may sound straightforward, but before this app existed, I would spend several hours each month managing bureaucracy that now is handled automatically for me.This app originally started as a sibling of Epic's MyChart app, but each new release of the MyAdvocateAurora app has added more useful functionality not found in the generic MyChart app. For example, you can use powerful Find-A-Doctor and Find-A-Location searches to find the right doctor in the right place at the right time. Or you can search/read thousands of exclusive health articles written by Advocate Aurora. I also consider the MyAdvocateAurora app to be much more relaxing on my eyes than the exploding Pez-dispensor color palette found in MyChart.Note: You must register for a free MyAdvocateAurora account in order to use this app, but that process is fast and easy.

Just stay away from Aurora doctors! I promise you, they do not care one bit about you. They must be coached to get in and out of appointments as fast as possible. Every Aurora doctor I have seen comes flying into the office, sits down, asks me to tell them what’s going on, gives me room for one sentence, cuts in, diagnoses without any kind of exam or test, prescribes something, and sends me on my way. Every single visit with every single doctor. If they do end up wanting a sample or something then make sure you are on top of reaching out once the results are in. They won’t remember to go back and review the results. You will end up suffering for days waiting on them to finally get back to you. When they do, do not expect any kind of apology or sympathy. They are taught not to admit fault. You will be told, even if you have the results in front of you and can read them clear as day, that the results really didn’t show much but if you are still having symptoms the doctor will prescribe something. LIARS!!! I LOATHE liars!!! They will absolutely lie to you. I have caught their doctors in lies multiple times. The Aurora doctors are not to be trusted! Please switch to another system. These people almost killed me. I’m not exaggerating. Please.

This app is an interesting tool to help to me manage my health. However, in my experience, receiving test results via this application is a mixed bag. The good news is turnaround time between the test and getting the result is minimal. However, many times the results of the test are confusing, conflicting, or difficult to understand without the knowledge and expertise offered by a caregiver in person or on the phone to provide context and implications. The results can muddy the waters more than provide clarity and that can be troubling. A possible solution to the difficulty in understanding test results, would be to provide a clear and easily accessible statement of what is normal and then clearly identify the category that the test results fall in: normal, almost normal, nowhere near no normal, etc. However, I am extraordinarily grateful for the addition of meditations - a wonderful tool. I have used them in the past with great success, and I’m delighted to find them so easily accessible on LiveWell. Great idea. KN

Purchased a new iPhone and got locked out of my account. Although I supplied the correct password, the two forms of authentication requires I use a number sent through text message. Since I no longer have the phone number I created my account with, I have no access into getting into the app. Typically your email address is proof enough for two forms of authentication, but not for this app. It is very hard to get into your account even with proof of email. I reached out to customer support through email and the only option is to talk to customer support their support phone line. This has been miserable as I requested a call back twice this past week when calling and never got a call back to my current phone number. Today I waited over an hour on hold and received no call back. The customer support to get into your account is horrible and the support team is helpless through email. Logging in with email/pass word should be enough. My bank accounts are easier to get back into if you’re locked out than to check on my blood work through this app.
