Description

Notes is the best place to jot down quick thoughts or to save longer notes filled with checklists, images, web links, scanned documents, handwritten notes, or sketches. And with iCloud, it's easy to keep all your devices in sync, so you’ll always have your notes with you.

Features

Powerful note-taking
• Add attachments - PDFs, photos, maps, web links, and more.
• Record and transcribe audio directly into a note.
• Scan paper documents with the built-in document scanner.
• Secure sensitive or personal data in a locked note.
• Create checklists. Make a grocery list, a wish list, or a to-do list, then tap to check off items as you go.
• Apply different text styles, such as heading or body, bulleted lists, highlighting, and more.
• Tap next to section headers to reveal a chevron to collapse text.
• Add tables to quickly organize information.
• Use your finger, or Apple Pencil on a compatible iPad, to sketch right in your note or an inline PDF. Choose from a variety of brush styles and colors, and add lines and grids to a note for easier writing and drawing.

Organize and search
• Search for text in notes, your handwriting, and even inside scanned documents and photos like receipts or bills.
• Link from one note to another to connect ideas, content, or any information. Try typing >> for a shortcut to add links while writing in your note.
• Keep your notes in folders and subfolders, or add tags to categorize them. Type or handwrite tags directly in your note - like #cooking or #expenses.
• Automatically organize notes in a Smart Folder based on filters. Create rules to filter for Date Created, Checklists, Attachments, and more.

Collaborate
• Collaborate on entire shared folders or on specific shared notes.
• Mention friends to notify them of important updates and link them directly to a shared note.
• See what others added into a shared note while you were away with Activity view, a day-to-day list summary of activity from each collaborator.

Take notes anywhere
• Just swipe with an Apple Pencil or finger from the bottom right corner on any compatible iPad to start a Quick Note outside the app. You can also use Fn-Q (Globe-Q) on a keyboard, or create Quick Notes on iPhone from the share menu in an app.
• Add deep links from an app or website to a Quick Note to mark your place.

Certain features are available only in select languages and regions.

I Love it! I Love it! I… think there are some improvements needed.

Let me start this off right by saying that I LOVE the notes app. I use it for everything. For writing stories, songs, EVEN FOR TELLING MYSELF WHAT TO DO TOMORROW, I tend to use it a LOT. But I just have 2 issues with it. So, when you have a folder inside a folder (or subfolder for short), it would be nice if inside the main folder you could see the subfolder. Almost as if it was a document. Of course, it would probably be like shorter or something to differentiate it from a actual note. Anyways, you would be able to click on it to open the subfolder and then once you are in the subfolder you could click on a arrow somewhere in the top left corner, and you would be back to the main folder. This would just be a nice quality of life change. The 2nd thing is also quality of life, but also something a little more universal then something that just triggers my OCD 😂. It is the fact that people have to EXCEPT a shared note for it to be something they can edit. My friends aren’t great at this so it would just be nice if it would be a feature that you could just manually add them instead of having to wait for them to except the invitation. Bark out, Dozard87.

Need improvement to able to add contents into an existing note from the top

PRO: This app offers widely accessibility across all applications and Apple devices, standing out for its exceptional user-friendliness. It excels in quick information capture—whether sharing a delightful recipe discovered online by saving the link to Notes or preserving a screenshot to prevent it from being lost in the Photos app. A key strength lies in the app’s versatility to store various documents and files for effortless retrieval and access. This stands in contrast to the Files app, where content is often hidden, leaving users reliant on file names for identification. Additionally, organizing notes can be done with easy by creating personalized folders, spanning categories like personal, educational, professional, and financial, enhances the user’s ability to structure and manage content. Notably, the default notes folder is truly a brilliance feature; new notes appear in a designated folder by default, and users can maintain a clutter-free space by promptly relocating them to custom folders, leaving the yet-to-organize notes uncluttered.

CON: For enhanced practicality, the app could introduce an option allowing users to add new content to an existing note from the top. This adjustment would place the most recent contents at the beginning of notes, eliminating the need for users to scroll through older content to access and edit the latest information.

Great but malfunctioning…

I love this app and, probably like many others, write weird stories in it. (Maybe, I’m not sure) So, in order to give myself privacy, I set a password on my especially weird ones. But, I also happened to put on Face ID, so I though that I didn’t really have to use the password since I had Face ID. How very wrong I was. So it turns out that, just today, while I was attempting to go into my notes to write in a story I was working on, I didn’t get the Face ID option, but instead got the password option. I tried and tried again to get the password correct but I couldn’t do it, so I went to settings and decided to change the password there. So I got rid of the OG password and made a new one. It didn’t work. I tried to take off the tab, that didn’t work. I reset the password again. That didn’t work. I switched the Face ID off and then back on again. That didn’t work. So then I made a whole new note and THEN IT LET ME USE FACE ID. What is happening, and can you please fix this, it was a really long note and I don’t want to have to rewrite it by memory. (Because I don’t have a good memory, and like I said, IT WAS A REALLY LONG NOTE) Please can I have this working properly again soon, thank you. (Also this was very annoying to type because of the new feature on my phone where it ‘improves my eyesight’, I already wear glasses, why do I need this?!)
