Please note that other Swann CCTV and IP camera models will not work with this app. This page will be updated as new compatible products are released.

Note: This app uses a data stream that will connect to your Swann system via 4G/5G or Wi-Fi. When using 4G/5G, the video from your Swann device may be considered "downloads" by your phone service provider and could contribute to any download limit your phone data plan may have. If you exceed any plan limits you may incur additional usage charges. Consult with your mobile service provider regarding the use of a video streaming app and how it may affect your plan.

Pairing

I’m running the current 2.17 Alpha test app. Still finding that the major problem is re-pairing a camera when it stays offline. I get board after an hour trying both normal and “ manual “ pairing approaches. My wifi is via a Deco nest system throughout the house. The iPhone had no trouble seeing the camera’s wifi signature, but the app still says “ unable to connect “ I have eight cameras, 4 are Spotcam and are connected via the Ethernet cable and 4 are Indoor Alert types. Presently one of the Alert cameras is offline and won’t re-pair. Sometimes when a camera goes offline it will connect via the app, but if after 3 days it remains offline, then I disconnect it and try to re - pair. That’s when the trouble begins. Sometimes deleting and re installing the app fixes the issue but not always. Is it possibly that the iPhone and the app are not 100% compatible? Is there another way to resolve this annoying problem in what otherwise is a good system. The Ethernet option is definitely preferable as getting a good wifi signal through double brick walls is no good. I could only get about 30% wifi . With Ethernet it’s 100%.

Unusable since updated

The app worked alright for me until the recent update in which some new features were added. I mean, previously, it did have some issues with changing modes, but I could still use the app to run my 4 camera 12mp surveillance system. Since the update, the app has become completely unusable. It crashes, stalls and freezes my entire phone. I’ve made sure my phone software is up to date, my Swann hard drive firmware is also up to date, I’ve deleted and redownloaded the app, I’ve tried it all, but it’s just unusable now, which means I’m now unable use my phone to control or monitor my surveillance system. Reading through all the other reviews, it seems like this app is Swann’s Achille’s heel. The functionality of many of their products largely depends on this app and they don’t seem to do much upkeep on it. They’re a massive company and it’s time for them to start focusing on the development of this app, because people like me will soon change to a different brand. I haven’t even had my system for one year. I really like the quality of the cameras and everything that I have, but I’ll replace it all soon if this app doesn’t get fixed and if Swann doesn’t start showing some care for its upkeep. Swann, never forget that this app connects your products with your customers. This app is their experience with your products. You should put all of your efforts into making sure it’s giving your customers the best experience possible.

Uploading videos

Disappointing app, at first i could download video recordings from playback to my iphone, now i can no longer do this making my system useless as i can no longer save any required footage. For this to be an effective system you need an app that allows you at anytime to download recordings from the cloud through playback to your phone's photo albums. After ringing the number for assistance, still there has been no solution other than again being asked if i have contacted customer support. The only way to rectify this as i see is for the actual team that programs the app to make contact so a patch can be made to resolve issue. I would highly advise people who are looking at the swann wireless cameras to seek another product as there seems to be no guarantee that this system will work when you need it the most.
