I’m a previous twin star banker that has been forced to switch to Peak. Customer support has been really helpful when I need. However, the way that the transaction show up on the app is quite frustrating. I really hate that you have to click into every single transaction to figure out the title or place the transaction was made from. Seeing “withdrawal” as the main part of the transaction line isn’t helpful for me. I would rather see a negative for something that came out in a positive with a different color for deposits. I really wish I had my twin Star app again because it was very user-friendly. Probably would be better in my opinion, if they change the way, the transaction line showed up on the app.

The app works, so I'll give them that, but not being able to adjust the font size is a serious problem. They chose a GIANT font for account names and totals-so I lost any privacy I might have had when looking at my account balances in public or at home when I don't want others to see them. Without my glasses I can read the numbers on my little iphone from 10 feet away. Literally. I tested it. That alone is disappointing, but there's more.It takes two clicks to get to the list of accounts from the home page. When I log on, it's generally to see my balances then make decisions and take an action, thoughtfully with my numbers at-hand. Now, I get an extra step in the process. That's aggravating. My last frustration is the bright, cheery, daycare center feel of the app. I lost some trust that they're going to take my money and my financial concerns seriously in the future after I saw that. I thought the merger was going to give my old credit union (Northwest) a new level of service...but now?

I like the new Peak app’s attempt to unify two brands and provide an updated experience. It does feel streamlined, although it’s a learning curve to find some features a couple taps deep in the menu.As a TwinStar member, we lost some incredibly important functionality:1. To freeze a debit/credit card at any time. I felt so much more secure leaving my debit card frozen unless I needed it, making fraud one less concern.2. Alerts, in-app and via text, of account activity with the specific vendor and amount of the transaction. Creating similar alerts from scratch in the Peak app resulted in useless, generic push notifications and texts, although the “secure message” was more helpful, I had to log in to see it, which defeats the point of being able to monitor my accounts painlessly. I feel much more susceptible to missing potential fraud on my accounts.3. The ability to see pending transactions in account history. This is the ultimate way to combat fraud! Without these core features, this makes us all vulnerable to fraud. TwinStar has been my primary account for decades, but the loss of these features makes me revisit that.

The new app is fine for people who do not have difficulty with new tech, but for people with visual impairment this app is not good. I do not like that all accounts that your ssn are on are attached to your online banking on your personal account. Just because I am a joint owner on my sons account does t mean he wants me to have online banking access. For people with visual impairments the dots, colors and grid lines cause confusion. Also I wish there was a way to move tiles around on your dashboard or remove the ones you do not want. This change has made it unavailable for use by my mom due to her vision and I think that is awful.
