Update has made the app virtually unusable in many ways

So, I’m sure I’m just echoing other reviews at this point, but I wanted to give them time to iron out issues. Instead, the app has actually gotten less usable as the months have gone by. I can’t add sale items to my cart, searching items doesn’t always return what I’m looking for even if I know it’s there but does return a number of irrelevant items, and quite frequently the app won’t let me order items that I used to order all the time. That’s the one that’s really set me off. I can somewhat work around the other two (although it is extremely irritating and something I did not have to do with the previous version of the app), but I will do all of my shopping, get all of my things in the cart, go to place the order, and it will tell me half of them are not available. Even though I know my store has them. Things like HT milk. And there’s nothing I can do but try to find substitutes and replace them in my cart and hope it doesn’t give me that message again. I like my Harris Teeter, but at this rate I’ll need to switch stores just to get any sort of reasonable amount of groceries. I’ve got a perfectly good Food Lion and Aldi close by, and if this doesn’t get better, I’ll need to make one of them my primary grocery store instead.

I’ve tried several times to create a acct so I can use mobile pay at the registers. I use Apple Pay mostly now. Teeter use to be where we did most of our shopping. But since we’ve been using Apple Pay for the past 6 months or so? I only use Teeter to pick up milk or only when I need a couple items. Which is a shame bc Teeter is the closest grocery store to our house. (Less than a mile away) I seen they was now offering the use of Mobile pay now, but only through the app. Which it will not let me complete the sign up process. It keeps saying I will need to call customer service to complete the sign up process. But the only hours they accept phone calls is bad for me. So this poorly made app is costing Harris Teeter business. After reading other reviews? I will never try to place a order through the app. Lol. You can’t just substitute someone’s items in their order without any communication. Smh. Sounds like the old version was far superior? I hate when companies do these updates and completely ruin what was good about the app. Updates are suppose to improve issues, not create issues! Why y’all don’t just accept Apple Pay without having to use this flawed app is beyond me?But Harris Teeter along with other Stores are losing lots of business because of this. That has become the main deciding factor as to what stores I use now! I will attempt to activate this app one more time. If I can’t make it work? Harris Teeter will just lose our business completely…

There seems to be two different carts that don’t sync. It’s very frustrating. If I “shop a deal” through the weekly ads tab then those items go into a tab that’s within the weekly sales tab window. But if I search for an item and add it to my cart, it goes into a different cart without the items from the weekly ads. Also, tonight the app kept “encountering a problem” and had to be refreshed constantly. Oh, and it never keeps me signed in or remembers my store. So I have to sign in and choose my store each time. It’s frustrating because I build my cart throughout the week as I think of things I need.***sept 2024 edit: it’s AWFUL. It makes me so sad because I love Harris teeter! Unfortunately, during the school months while I’m working, I shop mostly at Walmart because their app WORKS. I can spend 10 minutes on my recess break to place an order and the groceries are waiting for me at my door when I get home. It’s a shame because HT has better quality products and employees but the company is losing A LOT of money just from me because their app is useless. I encourage the app developers to look at Walmarts app and follow suit. Walmart functions, is easy to reorder frequent items, I can add something I forgot after placing my order, I get easy to use text notifications about substitutions and check in. But no app stands a chance if it doesn’t even work at the most basic level.

But if I search for an item and add it to my cart, it goes into a different cart without the items from the weekly ads. App still hasn’t improved. It is difficult to find your pick up order. You have to go through so many steps to find it, and it isn’t intuitive. Whoever is working on this app, obviously doesn’t do pick up orders. It used to be on the front page if you placed an order. Also, even though the store takes Apple Pay, it still isn’t an option back on the app. Apple Pay is much more secure. I don’t even think this app has 2 factor Authentication, which opens it up to peoples info being stolen. Please get a developer who actually does pick up orders in their own lives to improve this app. It needs A LOT of improvement. I don’t shop at Harris Teeter as much because of it. Previous:App improvements are terrible. Each update is worse than the previous. If you go to the savings part, and try to add things to your cart, it doesn’t add them to the app cart, it adds them to a different cart.
