iPhone and iPad Apps, Now on Mac!

Use them on your Mac with Apple silicon.

A Mac with Apple silicon can run many of your favorite iPhone and iPad apps—which you can download right here on the Mac App Store! Just look for the “Designed for iPhone” or “Designed for iPad” badge.

iPhone and iPad apps run side by side with your Mac apps.

You’ll find our favorites on the Discover, Create, Work, Play, and Develop tabs. You can also search for these apps by clicking the “iPhone & iPad Apps” option at the top of your search results. Compatible apps you’ve previously downloaded on iPhone or iPad also appear in your Mac App Store purchase history for easy downloading to your Mac.

See iPhone and iPad search results separate from Mac apps.

Your Mac’s keyboard, trackpad, and mouse work as you’d expect with these apps, but enabling Touch Alternatives (via an app’s Preferences window) lets you perform gestures such as tilting, tapping, and swiping using your Mac’s keyboard and trackpad. You can also emulate game-controller actions in iPhone and iPad games that support controllers.

Enable Touch Alternatives to perform gestures using your keyboard and trackpad.

Want a different view? Use the View menu to switch between landscape and portrait orientations and to enable full-screen mode on apps that support these options.

Most iPhone and iPad apps are compatible with a Mac with Apple silicon, but some may not be available because they require capabilities unique to iPhone or iPad. A developer may also choose to make their app unavailable on Mac.
